Guys,

I noticed all standard balladeer models have been discontinued, instead being replaced with corresponding serials with an LX added at the end (e.g. 1861 is now 1861 LX).
I remeber vaguely that these models actually coexisted and the price difference was quite subtantial, at least in Europe.
So what are the differences between LX and non-LX models, and more importantly, does the sound quality make up for the price difference?

The LX represents some meaningful changes.
Improved, lighter & more responsive bowl material.
Scalloped bracing
Entire new neck brace system.
Did I miss anything??

I think you can find more details on the LX upgrades at the Ovation website.

I see, thanks for the reply... so it's more than a marketing trick!
Generally speaking, as the owner of a now discontinued model, should I be worried at all? (in terms of warranty, assitance with repairs after tha warranty is gone, chances to sell later for a reasonable price, etc).

Good!
'Cause I was wondering if I should have stretched my budget bakc then and buy the damn LX instead (hence the question about sound quality improvement) :)
