Are you referring to the snot blob:


It's a painted on pick guard and all (most?) textured top Adamii have one.

Never black though. Usually pretty clear but they do yellow with age. Is that what you're asking about, PEZ? Shouldn't be any black spots on the top other than the sound holes.

not really sure what you're talking about. The accumulated mucus pool that is mentioned to here has a way of making the top look two dimensional instead of three so you get more of the blackness of the grafite coming through. That it?

My son asked about my snot blob. When I explained it he seemed a little unsure.

On the other hand, when I got the 1581, I took it over to show GNATL. He said "It's got the snot blob!" like he was meeting someone famous.
