Anybody heard anything new about availability of these? I remember a few have been sighted recently but a Google search turned up next to nothing. Al, can you get them? I am especially interested in a 6759-4 LX. Any (round)body out there? I am sure I am not the only one pining about the lack of an LX 12-er in the arsenal. Besides, I need something to tide my GAS over until the contoured bowled Adamii arrive! ;)

They are available. Our local Guitar Center had a couple of Legend LX 12-strings before Christmas. In fact, Folklore has one, he got it there.

Elderly had one also, but it is gone now.

If I were to stumble upon an LX Elite 12 I think it would be difficult to separate from!

Eventually there will be more and many options.

I was just in Samash (Paramus, NJ), Victor's House of Music (Paramus), Guitar Center (Paramus), Guitar Center (Totowa, NJ)today. I have yet to see an LX 12 string. Lots LX's...but not 12's, and they are all saying no time soon.

Probably good for my wallet.

Couldn't find a 12 string shubb capo either, which is what I was hunting for. Gig saturday, no time for online shipping.

(sigh)

Hey Johnny, in a pinch a Dunlop capo will do it for you. Works ok on my 6759 ... you gotta get it seated just right, but when you do, it works just as well as my Shubb.

Johnny, this will sound hookie but it WORKS. Get yourself a Kyser capo. It's "marginally" OK for 12-string. But then go to an office supply store and get one of those "rubber tips" that people put on their fingers to count money. Actually I've heard them called "money rubbers". Get the smallest size they have. Just slip it onto the back leg of the Kyser. It works like a freakin' dream. Gives the Kyser just enough extra force to work perfectly and the rubber protects the neck finish. Dave

PS, GC here in Phoenix has LX-12string in a sick orange color. Reminds me of puking up Vodka and OJ when I was a teenager. BUT, the damn guitar sounds incredible even with rusted strings.

I've always used a Shubb capo on the 12's and a Kyser on the 6's. But I was recently given a G7th capo and it works like a dream on the 12's. Expensive, but worth it.

Thanks for the input...and Cliff, thanks for the offer of the capo. Nice how you guys come through with the suggesions and ideas when a guy's in a pinch...one of the things that makes this such a great site.

I still have a couple of local stores to check, but if need be, I can get away with my 6 string shubb capo...I've done it before. Just have to be extra careful when placing it.

I do own a 12 string shubb, just can't freakin find it! I'm sure I'll find it AFTER the gig Saturday in one of my jacket pockets, or some other dumb ass place it's not supposed to be. UGH!

I was looking at the G7 capo last night, but often need to use the capo up around the 7th & 8th fret on my 12, and I recalled someone here saying you can't use it that high with a wider neck.

Thanks again!
Johnny

Johnny:

Just got done trying the G7th on Big Blue at the 7th fret. Worked like a charm.

As Roger pointed out I picked up a Legend 6756 LX 12-string at a Guitar Center just before Christmas. They had one other that also sold within days of arriving in the store. The only thing I see missign from the 6756 is an XLR out. Perhaps this is only a feature on the Custom models. Really a great guitar. Can't see how you could do better, except maybe a ME 12 like Rogers.

At Paul's suggestion, I picked up one of those G7 capos last night...the thing is AWESOME. I though my shubbs were the best. At $42 (including tax) the G7 is well worth the change. Very easy to manage and works well on my 12 strings up at the 7& 8th fret.

On the package it says for 6 & 12 string guitars.

Thanks for the tip Paul-Moody and Templeman (who first mentioned this capo to me).

been using the G7th for ?? about nine months, excellent on the Adamas, Custom Legend, GC,etc., 12's at least to 7th fret.

now that I have an MM68 and not playing in a group, don't usually capo beyond 5th fret.

Hey MWoody, I'm waiting for the same thing. ---An Elite 12LX version of the 1778. I emailed Ovation requesting reassurance that one was on the way but they never answered me back.
Does anyone know if they are really going to put one out??

Yoch,
It is inevitable! My guess is it will take as long for the LX12s to show up as it did the additional LX models, one year.

Attention Al, et al at the NAMM; any answers to the 12 string question would be welcome!

I would call him on his cell phone but I suspect he wouldn't hear it ringing where he is at!
