I just want to share my happiness with you.
My first Adamas is at home since 3 days!
This is a 1182-7 Adamas II. According the serial number, this one was made in 1982.
It's probably the only one Adamas II acoustic in existance because no other Ovation guitar has this model number!!!!!
Some words about this guitar story:
It seems to be a prototype because the Adamas II was produced as an electric only model, and this is an acoustic only model (no pickup and no preamp). The model number of this guitar (1182-7) is unique.
The German Ovation distributor got the bowl and top from Kaman in 1982 for demonstration purposes. The German distributor added a new neck last year.
So, this guitar should never exist but is alive today!!
The sound and the action are really incredible.

I'm now like a kid with his new toy!!!

The label looks different. It's a rectangle rather than an oval.

Slipkid, I don't know if the label is different from others Adamas II but you're right, the label is a rectangle. Is it unusual on a 1982 model???

Location: Phoenix AZ		Wayne is sitting exactly right! Early ones had rectangular labels, later switched to oval. Actually it isn't really rectangular, it's wider on one end than the other (keystone).
