| I'm pretty sure my '83 and '78 Balladeers (Non A/E) don't weigh the same, by maybe 4 or 5 ounces. I don't have a scale to check, but my old shoulder is a pretty good gauge. The '78 has a 5 piece neck, the '83 doesn't. Other than that, externally the guitars are identical. This makes me wonder if the truss rod or Kaman bar would be the weight difference. Any ideas? |

Location: Scotland | Also the earlier guitar would have a cloth bowl. That's not going to make a huge difference but the later bowl material is slightly heavier |
