Mine was "No Pretty Boys".

I even had the logo planned, a caricature of a handsome guy - wavy hair, strong chin, sparkling smile - with a circle and diagonal line over it.

Problem was, I was always in the band and, well, it kind of negated the whole idea.

when i was considerably younger i imagined myself as the front man with only girl band members. was gonna call the band, "tinker and his toys" after the popular "tinker toys" i used to play with as a child.

The band I sang with in HS was named "Montezuma's Revenge". The guitar player played in a group in college called "White Cloud" (after the toilet paper). We came close to forming a 2 man acoustic thing called "The Plungers" in the early 80's, but it never happened.

Incubus. Obviously before the band that currently has the name

Nomad. Just spell my name backwards and there it is.

Cpt, I love the "White Cloud" name. I wonder if we could squeeze some Charmin into one of the songs ;)

I used to write down names that I thought would be good. I can't find that list now, but I do remember "Drive By" was one. One we used was "Jean and Joan and Who Knows Who".

Many years ago I wanted to name a hard rock band "Crank Ass" I even designed a very descriptive logo for it. But(t) I couldn't get any of the other guys in the band to agree.

Here's a real one: SKROTUM = Jeff Burns, his brother on bass and Joe DeJohns! Still going strong in a nostalgic sort of way :)

Wine Dark Sea (from the title of the Patrick O'Brian novel. Refers to the color of the ocean just before and undersea volcano erupts.)

Wine Dark Sea is a common formulaic epithet in Homer: "oinopa ponton" which means something more like "wine-faced sea". Nominative Case = oinops pontos.
