Take that new guitar your wife doesn't know about and hide it. If you weren't able to make reservations at a swank resturaunt, you better have plans to cook her an amazing meal. Don't forget the candles and a nice bottle of wine, no Irish Rose or Mad Dog!!!! :p And lets not forget to put on a little Marvin, Barry, or Otis. :)

Best of luck to you guys and lets earn those brownie points!!!

Kindest Regards,

Anthony

Just out of curiosity, what are you expecting your wife to do for you (assuming you're a he and she's a she...although on second thought...oh, nevermind) for Valentine's Day?

Seems like a kind of one-sided holiday to me.

edit for spelling

I am not expecting anything... perhaps that does make Valentines one sided for me. But you know what, that is OK by me. Perhaps I am a hopeless romantic and like to give my wife unconditional showering of love, oh well. Its a curse I am more than glad to live with!!!

Kindest Regards,

Anthony

I didn't mean it to come across as snide. I (try) to show my wife I love, appreciate and respect her every day. The marketing juggernaut generated guilt trip of not getting her a card and {flowers, chocolates, lingerie, whatever} on one specific day just boggles my mind.

Like any of those things are sufficient to do the job.

My wife gives me a gift everyday by putting up with my various expensive hobbies.

What better gift could I get than not a word but a mere rolling of the eyes everytime a large brown box shows up at the door. :D

Valentines day is a chance to let her know she is special and that I care a lot more than I sometimes show!

Rome is officially burning. On the evening news (local is at 5:30 here), one of the big three lead stories is 'Passion Parties'. Of course, what they're showing are adult 'toy' parties; and they showed a woman demonstrating various implements of seduction, er, destruction.

Now, while I have no problem with people who choose to have sex parties in the privacy of their own homes, I don't really need the nightly news pumping images of a table full of dildos, condoms, lotions, oils and various other 'toys' into my house at dinner time. Are there no standards any more?

I guess it being Valentine's Day, that makes it OK, though, eh?

No, Mike's saying he gets his 'weapons of mass seduction' from Musicians Friend.

I have to repeat a comic strip joke because it was so good.

Three guys at the office discussing the day before on February fifteenth;

One says "I took her to dinner at the best place in town". He is labeled, "Smart Guy".

Second says "I bought the new car for her that she always wanted". He is labeled, "Great Guy".

Third says "Gee, what was the occasion?". He is labeled "Dead Guy".

I hope none of you are number three. :D :p

Tim,

I'm guessing the first piece that gets knocked off is one of the ears on the peghead. Then you start cracking the top finish. Once you snap the headstock off at the neck you put the rest on ebay!
