Get the 1537. You'll love it. If you don't you can always get rid of it and for pretty good money, perhaps more than you paid if you wait a bit. The other one is a newer guitar and will take more of a depreciation hit. While I have not played that particular model, I have played others like it. I'd choose the 1537 but what do I know, I'm just a retired gas station guy.
Then get the Mustang.........

Better to be somebody who pumped gas for a living than somebody who passed gas for a living.....

I agree about the 1537. I know somebody at Ovation who really knows the guitars and that's the one model he regrets not having.

Wife said yes! To the guitar, not the Mustang. JeffW, you have mail. Thanks to everyone for the great input!

OK, go for the Ford GT, much cooler than the Mustang anyway.

Once again, six pages of off topic posts sells another Ovation!

Someone has to get Alpep to start posting his inventory here. ;)

The really scary thing is when I asked my wife she said you should get both! Unfortunately, I'm the practical one. We were looing at SUVs and she decided she wanted a corvette. Do you know how hard it is to say no to a corvette! Or 2 Ovations.

Designzilla, listen to your wife! (or just realize how lucky you are). Here's your solution, tell her OK you'll get two but you'll take a rain check for the second one, to be cashed in at a future date of your choosing.

For the record, I sold gas for a living but passed it for fun

I like the rain check idea. And I feel very lucky that she supports my GAS!

I would 'El Kabong' Jeff, but right now all I seem to have handy is made of koa and very small.

OK, revised thanks. Thanks especially to Chatman for starting a totally unrealted thread that magically led me to buy a beautiful guitar I did not know existed.

And an extra special thanks to all you exalted experts (you know who you are and so do we) who beat me down with opinions and facts until I had no choice but to lust after my soon to be 1537.

And thanks to jeff cause he's gonna send me the damn guitar!

Designzilla,
One rule on the OFC is too never thank Cruster and to never never give him an opening to mention his uke!

Your mailbox is probably overflowing with an outburst of email from Cruster trying to send you photos and uke tabs!

....and that might just be the best sound ever to come from that lilliputian lute.

I'll do the thinnin' round here Bobbaloo... and my head hurts.

Hey, now, I haven't sent out the uke photo spam in ages. Well, actually, I've never sent out a uke photo spam. But, now that you mention it Stephen...

If someone would sell me a Hamer Cali Elite or a nice Duotone at a bottom feeder friendly price, I wouldn't have to 'harp' on the 'uke' so much.

;)

(Man, that was bad)

Don't really know what Duotones go for new but wasn't there one on ebay just this week that didn't sell?
