My point was that it would be only the Brits who would be aware of the likes of Val Doonican, Sid Little or Jasper Carrott, especially as the last two were crap comedians. But you're right Mr Doonican was Irish, but he was all over UK television and radio in the 60's and 70's. One of my first ever professional gigs when I was about 17 years old was playing rhythm guitar on a Val Doonican tour (that's not something I generally make public) He had a 1621 Artist which was mixed really low, mostly as a prop, while I played his parts on my Folklore. I never attempted to Phil his Cracken. Thank you Mr Doenges for getting this thread into the gutter, where I'm used to residing.

Sacha Distel, mostly known as a cheesy crooner, but actually a very tidy jazz guitarist.

The best was watching Bruce Bolin, the Gibson AR guy, play Mack O'Connors 1983 C-Series at a NAMM show in a duet with BB King. Seymour Duncan has the pictures to proove it.

Bellamy Brothers on " Let your Love Flow" played Adamas (x2). I saw an advert on TV this week for a CD and it featured that single and showed the video. They were Blue fronted.

Someone mentioned Mark Knofler, who I have meet on a number of occassions. Next time I see him I will ask what Ovations he has. Last time we were together in my car, we only talked Strats, as I had not yet bought my 1778 LX. It won't be till next September 06 till the next meeting.

Mine too. A bunch of us went to see his band at a club in Dallas, back when they first crossed the pond. Wow! Tiny venue, huge entertainment.
