Impossible to say which I like better - the 08C or the 1687-RI - as each has its unique tone and physical characteristics. A red one would sure be tasty, tho! Weaser, you really need to keep reminding your SWMBO about "the pretty blue one." Don't let it pass you by!

I went for the blue because amazingly I have somehow sold off all my blue ones. Now I am covered! Black - 2080D Red - 47 RI Blue - 1687 Brown/Beige/Natural/Sunburst - various woodtops

We've already discussed what to do with that money we won't have to send to school next August. 16 years of paying tuition to private school, sometimes for both, is finally over. I think she has other ideas for the money, though, like pay off her car loan.

Did you ever have this happen, the wife sends you to the store to buy toothpaste: Me: Honey, I'm home. Wife: Did you get the toothpaste? Me: Yup. It was on sale for a stupid low price. Wife: So how many did you get? Me: Just one. That's all we needed. Wife: You idiot. You'll never find another deal like that. Go buy another one. Me: Whatever you say dear. Well that's pretty much how this adamas deal went down. Minus the part about the wife knowing anything about it, of course. I'll bet anyone dinner right now that these will resale for $5000. in 5 years. Not sure how many are left, but I would not delay much longer.

I think you are dead on about the price increasing cause they ain't gonna be no more made.....at least that won't cost a fortune. Mr. Patrick.....bite the bullet and pull out the credit card and tell SWMBO that it is all you want for your next 3 Christmas.

For the 1687-8 30th Anniv, they have it on sale for $2,879 (shipped, if they actually have it in stock). Al has it for $2,499.99 shipped. He only has one of the -2's available (red)although that is a little more expensive. Don't wait...this is NOS (new old stock) and will not be repeated.

These are not shop worn, as if they were made last week. If you have the 47RI, you need the -2. If you don't have the 47RI, you need the -2. When my wife saw the -2 as I took it out of the case, she said "that's beautiful". Now for those who don't know...I have the 47RI, the OFC, early 1687's, 30th Anniv 1687-8, U681T, 1688 Adamas 12-str, Custom Legends, Martin HD-28VS, Martin D-25K2, Takamine 45th Anniv, Takamine New Yorker, Takamine TVN360SC, etc., etc. This 30th Anniv 1687-2...she says "that's beautiful". The -2 is extremely rare...myself, Witko, and one other are the only ones who have a 30th Anniv 1687-2. ONE LEFT....told Al that I will buy the last one in a couple of days just to hold it and sell it for more later.

That's a hell of a first buy to jump into the Ovation/Adamas market. A whole new era of GAS coming your way.
