I'm sorry but this is driving me crazy and I can't let it go.
A few posts back, in haste, I used the word "contrite" to describe Dave. That was not the word I was looking for.

con·trite
Pronunciation: \ˈkän-ˌtrīt, kən-ˈFunction: adjective
: feeling or showing sorrow and remorse for a sin or shortcoming

Dave is not conrite.... ever.

Ouch, Brad. That'll be two Hail Mary's, one Our Father and a CL for the Guy who sits in the Big Chair.

And let's be more careful out there, eh?

OK, fair enough. So for your continued entertainment, a new glove has been thrown and the challenge has apparently not yet been accepted, to wit, that TUS provide us with a sample of his playing. It seems he's more suited to sitting in the back of the class throwing spit balls than stepping to the front and presenting.

Four possibilities:

1) He'll present a clip of himself (or someone he'll claim is him) actually playing,

2) He'll lay low for a while then start posting again completely ignoring the challenge,

3) He'll re-register under a new name and continue posting, or

4) We'll never hear from him again.
I say, "Fair enough" also. The other piece to this is that -- in my opinion -- anything short of AT LEAST option #1, above, is sufficient to conclude that Suspects didn't write the piece that sparked this long back-and-forth, and he's just an inanity-lobbing fraud.

Post the music, Suspects.

Well, I still consider myself a noobe. I remember coming here when I had a Celeb, and asking a ton of stupid questions, (because I was stupid), and most of the "old guard" answered them in a concise and complete manner. Some like, what is nut width, what's the difference between a saddle and a bridge, etc... Since then, I have owned quite a few Ovations, Adamas, and other brands, and have gained quite an education about guitar design and function.

I appreciate all the information I have gotten from this site and the people who frequent it. THAT'S why I come here. I have come to meet a lot of the members in person, talk to considerably more on the phone who I have never met, and consider all of them very good friends. The dry humor is just topping on the ice cream, and is much appreciated also.

BUT, I feel we all have a responsibility to help out the new members that don't know some of the things we now consider obvious, and answer, just one more time, all the questions that seem to aggravate some of the older members. I'll continue to help out where I can, and would ask some of the more knowledgeable members to correct me when I'm wrong.

I do miss Cliff though. ;)

We ALL knew you had mis-typed, Brad. It wasn't a problem. However, I'm not quite sure what word you WERE trying for.

No.. something that suggests short, abrupt, answers.

Bravo, TJ!

And, I'd like to find out the REAL reason Cliff left. If he was just bored, then maybe he's just taking a vacation.

Dave, that's really neat. How do you do set that up?

Oh no. That's twice in two responses you can't just use the drop down list.

Ask him. He's still a member. Look up his member name and send him a PM or an email.

I don't think it matters how well TUS plays. There are all different levels of talent and skill here. There are all different levels of civility here too, and I think that DOES matter.

Just when I think I got it figured out, I find that I don't.
I might not even know them.
Oh yeah, it's evident enough...Uncles? give me a break..and for all the bravado and prose, in the end it's all just BS and drivel from children pretending to be adults...and doing a poor job IMHO...sorry, but I have better things to do...this is ridiculous...

I am so done with this. I don't feel I need at some point to have to post up my playing to some self-appointed panel of judges in order to have approval to continue to post here. Y'all would hate it anyway and I already know that I suck. But I don't really care because I don't play for some kind of public adoration or some panel's approval that I am fit to breathe the same oxygen as the cognoscenti. I am a rebel and revolutionary at heart and it all just rubs me the wrong way.

Besides, I used to come here to escape this silly world of bigotry wrapped up in a cloak of political correctness, spewed out by some self-appointed panel of thought czardom. But somehow it wound up here. This used to be a fun place where all those crazy wrong-thinking Ovation players would show up and and prove that Ovation was the brand for "different" people. Now we all gotta know the chords and words to Kumbaya, have a daily round of group hugs, and give affirmations of wonderfulness to everyone like some Dale fucking Carnegie seminar. Most of all, we must act in a way so that People Like Us!

I'll be over at the Delta House if anyone asks for me. But if you know how to play and sing "I Gave My Love a Cherry" (or anything allegoristic) I wouldn't recommend coming over. !!Viva la Resistance!!

if Beal had said ALL the same things as Suspects, I'd have laughed as hard as anyone, because he already has, oh, a few THOUSAND substantive, informative, useful posts under his belt. TUS? Not so much.
And that ridiculous non-sequiter illustrates perfectly who you and several others just do get it, and probably never will.

Lol! I don't think that actually made any sense whatsoever. Caravan...lay off the sauce.

Now, however, I suspect this thread has run its course.

Live with it.
Alison, you can "believe" whatever the hell you like, but until you back it up with evidence it's just a belief. Kinda like Islam or Christianity or all the other ridiculous beliefs out there that have nothing to do with reality. So please, don't spout what you "believe" without backing it up, otherwise some may quite reasonably start to question your credibility

I never claimed it to be MORE than my belief. I'm entitled to have my own beliefs, am I not? For example, YOU "Spout" that religion is "ridiculous" and that is your right. If you can post YOUR beliefs, why can't I post mine? You can question my credibilty all you want. I know who I am.

2)
