Annual rainfall in Seattle is about 37 inches- not that much.

Annual rainfall in Oak Harbor - Coupeville is about 21 inches. :)

I'd like to compare this to Campbell River, but they use some arcane measuring system. It is nice there on a sunny day.

Campbell River? Around 140 centimeters a year.
About 55 inches in that antiquated system that you share with Great Britain and few other intellectual backwaters..... ;-p

Interestingly, 80% of our rain falls at night.

More interesting, we have four real season. You can tell one from the other.
(Unlike, say, Yellowknife where the have 8 months of winter and 4 months of bad sledding....)

Yeah... people seem to forget that 3/4 of the state is a freak'n desert!! But lets not drown the illusion (excuse the irony).. The rain myth keeps people from wanting to move here and that's fine with me. :)

Too late. I remember when I could drive from downtown Seattle to the airport and still catch a flight in a half hour. That was before the Holiday Inn started charging $95 for a room and a separate charge for parking!
A couple years ago we were getting almost as many people moving here from Seattle as we were from California. That stopped because we don't have any jobs.

A couple updates for travelers....

520 will be closed next weekend. I-405 is always the best if you're coming north or south, but for anyone coming from Seattle, be sure to use I-90.

Also, there's an Art event going on in the botanical gardens that weekend, so if spouses get bored or want to wander off, it might give them something to do for a bit if they like, or even on Sunday.

Hey all, I've been outta pocket for the past 48hrs or so. I'll get PMs to everyone shortly.

As for what time to be there, I think Noon is a good time for folks to start showing. I know people will be filtering in all afternoon at different times.

For those who haven't already, please do let me know if you plan on attending, either on here or shoot me a PM.

The Tiki Torches are up, it seems we picked a good week, it's gonna be a scorcher (for WA). And I just repaired my wine cooler in the nick of time!

I'm excited about seeing you all.... and even MORE excited about some of the guitars I hear will be making their way. OK, that might have come out wrong. Let's just say I'm excited.

We're just about ready for this thing. All in all there will be a couple dozen folks from my calculations. Should be BIG fun for all.

If you haven't pinged me yet for an address, please email or PM me ASAP. I'd hate to have to say....
