The lack of cash wasn't ever a big problem as long as I had all that home equity and bankers willing to loan against it. That ended pretty fast, didn't it?

Don't you just love GAS? Those twin baritones were satisfying for, what, a week?

A week? Hell, I committed to take an 08C yesterday and today I got delivery of another guitar (Tak760SC). I was also shipping 3 out, so at least in the gatekeepers eyes it looked sorta good. Dave

Freaking 2-day FedEdx prices are up to $65 !!!

I'm running my own custom guitar ordering scheme as well. My last eight guitar purchases have all been either custom one-offs or very limited editions. Fortunately, the amps have all been production models!

Still very satisfying!

but a Limited Edition of 100 is still a Limited Edition and I expect this one to be just like the 1581 (which was extremely difficult to sell) except EVEN BETTER!

Brad....You know you want one.

Stephen, actually, I'm standing back in the spectator crowd on this one. I already have a 1581 which looks pretty similar. Besides, I'm hanging out with the Hamer guys right now.

If it's half as good as the 1581, it'll be incredible.

The crazy thing is, I was spec'ing out my "dream" Adamas a while back, and except for the color (black was my second choice) this is EXACTLY what I picked out. Satin neck (sorry Dave), slothead, 1 3/4", bass-side epi's...gotta be killer.

Now I just have to decide if I want to part with 3 to pick up 1.

RE: Prof BB & edensharvest comments. I, too (as a new owner of a 1581-5) would love to hear a comparison between the 1581 and the 2008 collector's. They appear to be very similar minus the obvious (amazing) cosmetic features of the 2008.

Greg, it would make an awesome sibling for the 1581. Knowing about it at the beginning of the run gives you time to commit and then figure out how to come up with the funds.

I think today I may shoot myself in the foot and commit to a sunburst cutaway something something that along with this one and the Tak 45th will effectively remove me from the market for all of '08 (as I tap dance out of the picture).

Beautiful! Now that's a collector's worth having!

It's amazing how many great limited edition O's and A's have come out in the last year or two.

Of course, Al has had his hand in a bunch of them!

just got back from the factory.
I played the prototype 000/100

great sounding and playing instrument.

but what I realized as I was driving home was that this was one of the options I wanted for the OFC guitar. to make a "modern" version of the classic slothead.

or maybe I just dreamed that....

again it is a great guitar.

Glad the OFC (and the 47RI) weren't "modernized".

The OFC and the 47RI are unique instruments. They can never replace one of the original slotheads but they are representative of the best of the technology and skills used in the original. The original slothead, the OFC, and the 47RI are guitars that we probably won't see again.

The original 2-knob pre-amp, the hand laid bowl, the detailed carving, etc.

What we saw in the original slotheads is timeless. I believe they got it right the first time.

The OFC and 47RI have allowed many others to share in the experience with the original slothead owners (past and present).

Al, I remember your original postings on the OFC guitar. You called it a "Hot Rod slothead". Glad it didn't happen that way.

My thinking was to make it the best guitar that it could be. Using all the cool elements of the old and new.

It was the right decision to make the OFC guitar what it is.

But the 08 collectors is a very cool guitar.

So Al, when can we expect emails with pricing details so we can pay for these puppies and then start bugging you about ship dates?

Can I buy "000" prototype?

prototype is not for sale.
I tried.

I am waiting for a confirmation of when I will get my guitars and what s/n's.
when all that is firm I will send out some e mails.

I guess I am not that great of a businessman but I have issues with selling air. I would prefer to have the item in my hand or know the delivery schedule. To be honest, things have changed and I have been told one thing and another was done and told we are all turning left and then at the last minute told we were turning right that I just don't know what to say.

example. 12 and 14 fret koas. I was told delivery was 2 weeks away no more than 6 times. Finally I just gave up. I know there are people out there that will take your money and hold it FOREVER until they get a product or if they don't just say oops. I tend not to want to do that. that is why I will never become a "million dollar account".

Something to be said for paying your money and getting your product.

I like the concept but it will never catch on....makes to much sense ;)
