All seriousness aside... on the upper right, when you log in, there is a link to "settings." You can change all you info there. It does take a bit to get used to, and I'm far from used to it. But, on the other side, in less than 24 hours, there's a ton of cool music, video and photos and it's fun watching people come up with stuff. There's even a pet Llama :)

With that said, I'd say; as long as there is still a site and it is functional for the rest of us then........You do whatever works best for YOU. If this is better for you and I hope easier to maintain then don't worry about what us bunch a nuts think we will tag along anyway. Thanks again to Both of you for getting this going and keeping it. kewel site man!

Pretty though the other site may be (pretty confusing, pretty compartmentalized...(, I'm only going to be playing at this site until (should it happen) I get the word it's all been moved. I have to spend some time in the real world......

But you can find stuff here. One thing, the New site only lists the top five (or so) recent posts. If you wanna find answers to something you posted, you have to go to your 'My Page' to check the things you posted on. This is not conducive to people answering your thread after a couple hours of normal traffic, cuz the thread has faded into the ozone. I posted a topic about amps last night, it has faded into oblivion... This makes it hard to get the most insightful random comments. Here, there are topics that are days, weeks old. Even if no-one posts, a thread is here on Active Topics for at least two days... Which is handy for those of you who Have A Life!

But I agree with you, I'd rather just see subject lines only, and have a lot more topics per page. This might be something Miles can manipulate when he gets back on the mainland.

I agree, it is easy to lose track and hard to keep up. Personally, I would like the posting text box (where you enter your replay) to be at the bottom of the page, instead of having to scroll back to the top of the thread.

This Myspace-type format seems childish to me. I have to sign up as "friends" with people if I want to see any videos they've posted? I thought we were all friends here. Now my e-mail box is filled up with friends requests and that's not good. I'm having trouble deleting e-mail and tech support can't figure it out. They have to periodically go into my account and delete EVERYTHING, or I can't receive new e-mails. Not THIS site's fault, but it does complicate my life. I admit I'm not good with computers, especially since my old Mac died and someone gave me this blasted PC. But I really wish we could just keep the old site going and forget this "social networking". I HATE Myspace too. Everyone said I should get one for the shop so I did, but all I get is stupid messages from kids, who are the ones into social networking. I just want to talk guitars, not socialize. It's not my call, but here's my 2 cents worth. If it makes things easier for you guys who run the site, go for it, but I can already see that my participation will be greatly reduced. It takes too long, and I don't have time or room on this crummy computer. Thanks for listening.

As for the videos, all you have to do is go to the video page and you can view any of the videos. I hope you decide to stick around.

Most of my initial concerns were merely a lack of not knowing where to go to accomplish what I wanted to do. Each day the site gets a little easier to navigate and I am sure that as Miles learns the ins and outs we will start seeing a standardization of sorts. Will it ever be as easy as this site? No but I prefer my wireless phone over a corded rotary dial even tho the old one is more reliable and can never get "out of range" (as long as the cord reaches!)
