I have never doubted that AL would send me another guitar. He's a most honorable man. I just don't want him to get stuck when IMHO UPS damaged the guitar, so THEY should pay for it.

EDIT: I want to make it clear that I knew from the beginning when I talked to Al about the damage that he would replace it without a problem. I just don't want UPS to screw him over!

You know it takes quite a bit to damage an Ovation that is in its case during shipping. What does UPS do to these guitars? Makes me wonder??????

I have a sold guitar being delivered to EHRENBERG, AZ today and a bought guitar coming to me on Tuesday. All UPS and with insurance. I hope I never have to go through the processing for damage but they certianly charge enough to cover their mistakes. I hope all processes smoothly for you Hizz.

Am I too insensitive or nosy to ask what kind of damage was incurred?

MWoody: The top is cracked just adjacent to the seam from the purling up about four inches. Not a straight crack, but close. From the condition of the box, looks like something heavy was setting on it.

My "new" new Collectors 05 came in yesterday. What a SAWE-E-E-ET guitar! Had a nice little jam session after a council meeting last night. This guitar really is the cat's meow!

Now Cliff,

I am moved and you have caused me to have certain "feelings" in a way that I shouldn't have.

Your acid tongue, sharp wit, and sarcastic meanderings makes me think we were best friends in a prior life.....or at least bandmates!

Well I DID play the lute (and a little psaltery) in a small road troupe in the 1460's . . .
I hope it wasn't that band . . . I owed most of 'em money . . . . thank God for the Plague.

I think I heard you guys play in a cute little country inn, just before they burned it...
I seem to remember the llama tail soup was a little psaltery...

This is such an excellent guitar! I'm not a fan of natural, but this finish is sweet ... and I for one like the rosette design.

The bowl is very comfortable. SIts on my lap very well.

The tone is bright and clear. Intonation and setup is perfect.

Tonight I will need to plug it in!

My understanding is that Al still has one (yes, only one) FRG available now...

Advantages

1. warranty (5yrs)
2. available now with no wait
3. low number...why wait for #'s in the 600's
4. save a couple of bucks

snooze, you lose...

And based on testimony of two of our esteemed members, indistinguishable from a non-FRG model.

Hi, New 2005 on ebay , nice pics. here is link....
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33029&item=7...

Not to open a can of worms or anything, Have any of the owners of the 2005 collectors noticed a buzzing when picking open "A" string, as if the wires are vibrating inside the bowl?

It looks like the neck sandwiching is thinner on the new model.
