For those who know how, the party is about to go into it's second shift!

Setting tents at the campsite tomorrow night. (so we're just far enough and just close enough to the mainstage area)

Look forward to seeing dvd and family (it's a very family friendly environment) there next year. ;-)

I just finished printing Otto's songbook--over 250 pages. I'll have something other than Croce to play next time.

Thank you SIr. If I could sing, I might just go start playing out again.

Anyone know a good voice coach out here in the NW?

Damon, you sing as well as the singers in those 80s hair bands you like. I'd say you sing better, but I've never really listened to any of them.

Thanks guys, you all were the first group I've ever sang in front of. Just playing is a different story, but the singing is new to me.

I didn't want to be like one of those Idol idiots "well my mom says I can sing"

I need to diversify the set list some, then I think I'll be ready to jump in head first. I'll call upon y'all again for some advise before I do it, but I was thinking an open mic or so would be the way to start it out.

That would be a very cool adventure muzza. Y'all would have to supply the guitars.

Prolly have to drag me out of a winery or two as well.

They're great. The audience is normally very generous and receptive. You can start out with just two or three songs you feel confident with. (Practice playing with the radio turned on to music you really like listening to while you 'sell' the song to an audience of pictures along one wall.)

Always have one more song in reserve 'just in case.'

Prolly have to drag me out of a winery or two as well.
They also sell bottles, just like home...

I wonder if we could get a bulk rate on the trip with a party of 6-15? Any travel agents in this group?

BTW: Musicfest update.

We all checked out Sunday night. The drunken teens left many of us sleep deprived. I think this festival may be going the way of Merrit Mountain Music Fest...I am reminded of the Casey Stengle-ism, "No one goes there any more, it's too crowded."

The music is still good. Everything that happens when the sun is up is perfectly fine. But unless things change a lot, I don't think I can say it's exactly 'family friendly' after the music shuts down.

THanks for the info Phil. When I get closer to doing something I'll prolly hit you up and the professor, and Al, and all you REAL musicians for some more tips.

First things first though. Learn something other that Young or Matthews...

Hey Mark, weren't you gonna send me some Croce stuff?

I heard this Matchbox20 song I thought might be OK to do too...

I'll try to remember tonight, if I'm not booked working on the new pool vac all night.

Couldn't get the scanner to work, at least where I could read it, so I sent it via snail mail.

You don't have to call us all Sir, just because we are soooo much older than you. We are no more wise.

So much younger, HA!

I drink the blood of a newborn on every full moon. It's just a youthful appearance. In 9 more years I'll be 50. Ouch! ;)

I think dvd was the "baby" of the group.

Barely 40! When I was your age, if I can remember that far back, I was in way better shape than you. I couldn't play guitar then, either.
You're probably right about dvd, but he's aging rapidly since he had twins.
I thought AJ would be the old man of the group, since he talked about retirement and grandkids, but I was bummed that he and I are the same age. At least when people call me Grandpa they aren't correct.

Professor, you're in better shape than all of us.

And Mark! Dammit, I'm in WAAAAAY better shape than John Candy was at my age... Oh shit, he's dead.

I was trying to think of something I could trade for the Prof's flat abs and full head of hair. He seemed pretty well set. Yes, I'd settle for white hair even.

Mark, you always seem to have this propensity of always focusing on other Members' hairlines and physical attributes . . .
(not that there's anything "wrong" with that . . .)
