Dave, write a song about hard life and just mention wind in the first or last line. It's not that hard. Play your uke and you're guaranteed not to win anything, it worked last time.

OK, to tell the truth, when I told Joe that people were coming back early for the contest he specifically asked "Is that guy coming with the uke again? I liked him"

Just tell him about Temp's hotel room...

That'll cure his admiration in a hurry.

Might also be a basis for your song, Dave.

There's a wind blowing
not one, not two, not three
There's a wind blowin'
not him, not you, not me

see how easy it is.
Hell, Darby can do it and make it work, you can too.

Put me in the probably not column... someone's got to keep an eye on Jim (Beggin, that is). I am working on some lyrics though... it was pretty windy here yesterday - some inspiration!

Beggin' - here's one for you and CL ;)

(12-bar blues in your favorite key; first pass; feel free to add/edit)

Malibu Blues

There's a mean wind blowin'
Screamin' down them hills
There's a hot wind comin'
Howlin' down them hills
Old Santa Anna
She's out to get some thrills

There's smoke and fire
Racin' down to the sea
There's smoke and fire
Tearin' down to the sea
Old Santa Anna
She's comin' after me

(instrumental riffs)

Got my Beemer outside
Can't decide what to pack
Got my Beemer outside
All my stuff's in a sack
My Oscar's on the front seat
My chihuahua's in the back

(repeat 2nd verse)

I once wrote a song about sailin' into the wind.
Everyone told me it was tacky.

Colin, that might have been a bit too subtle for most, at least those in the land locked states.
