They weren't dressed too funny:

But "Mrs. Miles" did have to run an impromto class on the "Do's and Dont's" of hosiery when visiting out of Country.

I think I caught a shot of Fillhix going home the next day.
It should double as a shot of Aussie James leaving as well!

The guy in the funny hat is Al.
Mine's a Panama I picked up in Merida.
Funny....hmmmghf!

And, I'm sorry Woody. But my socks do sag over the course of an evening. Usually they're right up to the shorts.

....and WHO put that wine in my hand?!?!?! OH, right. That was just for the hike to the cooler.

Arrived home in Denver at noon on Monday. The new shock worked wonders. Incidently, Jeffrey D, the bike has 60,000 miles on it which is a bit beyond its normal life spand of about $50,000 miles. That bike you're looking at with 27,000 miles should be o.k. unless the prior owner weighed 300+ pounds. No problems carrying the guitar all skrink-wrapped thanks to Miles. As luck would have it, other than a few spinkl;es in the Cascades and as I arrived in Denver, there was no rain. I'll post a pic tomorrow.

My fondest memories...jamming with Miles, Al, _______ on bass, Mike W. and at least one other local friend of Miles. Terrific hosts, Miles and Lisa. The salmon is a keeper. Miles' collection of Ovation solid bodied prototypes and one-offs may be the best in the world.

For those who went to Ameilia, Damon can be "that guy." He can really shred it. Damon, that's a compliment!

And Damon's 1537 is one incredible guitar in both looks and tone. This opinion was nearly universal, if not totally universal. Tim, the flamer was found in perfect condition.

So what do I do after riding 1600 miles in 30 hours? SWMBO has me digging up and relocating plants! I should have taken my time!

We took AJ and Deb around Sunday and showed them the area. Nice for a couple non-guitar folks.
oh come on. I heard AJ play. He's good, even if his brothers are the muzzos in the family.

As usual, an OFC gathering was a great event of newfound friends, a reunion of previously, newfound friends, alot of Ovation discovery, and looked like a hell-of-a good time.

Wish I could-been-there, glad y'all hadda great time!!

I had the orange hat on, Brad. I forgot to pack my OFC cap, but the orange one worked well for Damon to spot me at the airport.
I'm sitting here listening to my new Sergio Lara CDs and thinking this board has way too much talent for me.
Fillhixx was in good company with those black socks. The rest of the week we saw another guy wearing black socks with shorts. His name was Porsche.

I tried to stay out of the pictures. I was probably closer to wherever the wine was pouring.

I was amazed by everyone's abilities. Everything from Mark's handle on Croce tunes, to Phil's uncanny ability to write a song out of thin air, to Brad's overall skills at singing and playing. I mean really, everyone had their own uniqueness and it was a pleasure to be a part of this thing.

Too many highlights and too many people to touch on everything without leaving something or someone important out, but for me, the overall highlight was the fine people, OFCers and non-OFCers alike. Ken, you're A+ in my book. So sorry I missed the Sunday trip.

You all have an open invite here in Bellevue if you're out this way.

When I was talking about non-guitar folks, I meant Sandy and I. I heard AJ play. He's quite good :)

There's nuthin' wrong with a bit of Koala love. Besides, I used protection.

Another note about the terrific generosity of our hosts...there were so many door prizes that we all took something home, some more than others. ;)

Thank you, Miles and Lisa, for opening your home and putting in all the work required to host. Great job!

I wasn't really sure I was at an OFC event because the people seemed so normal. Even Al, except for the hat.

Well a great time had by all.

Damnon bought a ton of guitars as did Woody. I even waved my hourly rate to solder a guitar together for the woody. Luckily it worked the first time he plugged it in or I would have never been able to live it down. (Can I stress Weller soldering pencil station and needle nose pliers!!!!!!!!)

Great time jamming, reminds me how much I need to hone those skills, not sure if I will ever have enough time to practice to keep up with everyone.

I did finally get some local cherries at the supermarket at a 1.99 an lb. which were really good but may have lead to an upset stomach on sunday.

Great to talk gear, hi fi, guitars, etc etc etc with everyon.

I didn't realize how friendly the people in the NW were. while I was still in bed the maid opened the door and asked if I needed "servicing" I told her I was fine for the time being but would consider it later.

plane ride from hell. delayed in O'hare for a couple of hours coming out, leaving delayed for and hour and a half which would have made me miss my connection in st. louis, got the last standby for a flight to o'hare to get a 6:45 to philly delayed to 8;45 then 10 then 10:30 then 10:35 then 10:39 got into philly at 1:30 am got my bags at 2 went to sleep at 4

still tired.

ps a special sincere thanks to the benefactors. you know who you are.

Ken, I was kidding. We do that here, just like at home....which is what Mount Vernon feels like now.
Except there's not enough Canadians! (right Sandy?)

Found out I LIKE outlet malls!...and that camping supply store just up the road a block.

Damon, too kind. 'That song' isn't finished yet...actually....I think it's two songs. Maybe Miles & I can putter at it this weekend before the morning stages start up, which is just after coffee.

Al, feel the love. It's what we do out here ;)
Whenever you feel stressed, just stroke your Kangaroo (or did you get the Koala?) and remember this weekend.

Back row, far right from the end, a nice local kid who is dabbling in the boutique amp business whose name escapes me, Aussie James, and MisterGolf007, if I recall correctly.

I think that's Ken (KBall) in the back left, but it's hard to tell. I forgot the young guy's name, too. He sure spoke amps. I didn't see him pick up a guitar until it was pretty late and then he sounded quite good.
