Tom, very nice collection, but where are the neon signs with which to properly display all this stuff?

Also, glad to hear you appreciate syphonic music. My wife and I have sung and performed with the Colorado Symphony Chorus for 19 years, including performances this past weekend.
ProfessorBB,

Thank you. I hear you .I was just looking at an Ampeg sign on ebay but the guy wouldn't send me a picture of it lighted up ! So the search continues ! Do you have any neon ?

I'm on the Board of Trustees for a local College(my undergrad alma Mater). One of my greatest thrills is to attend commencement each year. It is held at Kleinhans Music Hall; where the Buffalo Philharmonic performs. I get to sit on stage with the President and other notable dignataries. There are only 2 rows of us and directly behind us is the Buffalo Phiharmonic Chorus who perform every year. It gives me goose bumps to be so close to so many great voices. One of the Professors of the college(who was there teaching when I was 35 years ago) is in the chorus as well.

I very much appreciate symphonic music and am pleased to know you. I hope you appreciate what a great "gig" you have ! I unfortunately have no talent singing or otherwise; so I buy lots of gear to make up for it. It still hasn't made me play or sing any better !

Best regards,

Tom

Welcome and thanks for posting the excellent pictures of your great guitars.

I am in awe of your incredible collection. I really like how your straps compliment the style of each guitar.

Grif,

Thank you. And thanks for noticing the attempt at coordinating the strap to the Guitar.Slipkid, thanks for noticing also. The amazing thing is that most of the Straps were not custom made but just came out of Bob's stock straps . He was very inpressed himself how well it all worked out.

The strap for the white SG Special was semi-custom made. SRV used to wear a strap that was black with white notes so I asked Bob( the strap artisan) to reverse it which he did and it worked out great.

I'm actually thinking about buying this strap for the Ovation. Here is the guitar:

and here is the strap;

Let me know what you think.

Tom

So which strap would you recommend for the Millenium?

Millenium

Perfect...
The "diamonds" goes with the fret markers well enough and the color is right on.

That straps a nice fit for the black cherry burst. My 1868 is the same, a great look!

Millenium
CrimsonLake,

Thank you. For the Millenium you have a number of choices, none of which would be Blue !

Here is my Blue guitar and Strap:

The color of the strap matches the fretboard and back of the guitar; the silver conchos match the birds on the finger board and the gold center of the conchos matches the gold hardware.

For the Millenium I would pick up on the major light colored wood around the soundholes and possibly consider something like this:

Also since the back of your guitar is black you could go with black with some turquoise in the center of some conchos like this:

But I think that because of the large amount of black on the deep bowl I'd go with a black strap and have something custom made to go with the wood tones on the front.

Go here to get ideas:
http://www.guitstrapped.com/Solditems.html

You can get anything you want embroidered onto a leather strap; you are only limited by your imagination. Here is one of the embroidered straps I had made recently; can you guess what one of my hobbies is :

Tom

On the left side of this page (in the green area),you should see a link to Member Access. The galleries are thataways. Just scroll to the member you're looking for and you should find their albums. That's also where you can load your own as well.

Doctor T,

I really hope that you haven't ended the picture show yet!

Holy smokes. This looks like a high end pawn shop from the 1980s, when everybody was trading in their 10 year old Fender amps for the new Marshall stacks.

Hey this is great! I'm making copies of all of Dr. Tom's pics, then leaving them spread out on the kitchen table. When Mrs. Professor sees this, she might conclude that my little collection in the studio is, in fact, quite modest. On the other hand, let's start watching the papers . . . some touring group may be missing their equipment truck!

Tom, you are jumping to the intro page. Either go back to www.ovationfanclub.com or just click on Ovation Fan Club at the bottom of the page and either will get you the green bar.
Professor, you found someone crazier than you. Good luck with trick number 5 or 6 in my list of tricks that didn't work. I tried it with Dave's Ovation Gallery and even visited his house and showed her pictures. "Look, honey. Here's a guy whose sicker than me!" or "You thing I'm bad, look at this guy!" has never been a very good argument for me. I just can't understand why she's so unreasonable.
