seems the "french" are heavily influencing both of the OFC functions!

the french broad river park is on Amboy Road which runs adjacent to I-26 in asheville. if you are traveling in a northerly direction on I-26 you will take exit 6, make a left at the end of the ramp and continue to where that road which is called Long Shoals dead ends at Amboy. make a right and the park will be on your right side in 3-4 miles.
if you are getting onto I-26 off of I-40, take exit 2 and make a left on to Amboy Road. you will pass biltmore square mall on your left. continue on a couple miles to the park which will be on your left.

unfortunately, the city of asheville's parks and recreation site is under construction for their maps link or else i would post something more formal.

let's KISS it then and play it in G. please practice your G, G7, C and D7 chords.

and in the event philmax and amy are no-shows, you will have at least learned a new song to add to your amazing repertoire.

G...hmmm...G...hmmm...is that the key that Barney Fife used to sing in? Cause that's who I most sound like! Ain't he got the purtiest voice!

I will start practicing right away, I wonder if I can learn those chords by then?

i just remembered if we don't get to sing happy birthday to amy, my daughter, katy will be 18 two days later so we can still sing to her. we'll order up a birthday cake so philmax, let me know if amy's name should be on it too, okie-dokie?

Hey all, bring the kids if you have any. Here's the scoop on the new playground that was recently constructed at the park:

I think it took about 20 pages to get the NW group together last summer and we never even got to the exchanging tabs and learning songs part. You guys are way ahead in that department, but we concentrated on what beer to bring. That's why I like it in the NW.

Randy,
We will probably stay the night (Saturday) so if you can get us rate info, I'd appreciate it: twin queen or what have you rate (four of us). Feel free to PM me if you want to. i can check from this end as well but it will be Friday or Monday before I can check. Thanks for spearheading this event: sounds like it will be a GAS! (great allaround sing)! :D

We prefer the shortened version of "Gosh" or a simple "Golllllee" will do.

Gomer and Goober were cousins I think.

Barney I belive was an only child.

jpcannon, I hope that you are able to make the necessary arrangements. The more the merrier.

Barney was the illegitimate child of Floyd the Barber and AuntBea (that's why Andy never sh!t-canned him after all of his screw-ups).

They just never "detailed" that part in the script (pretty much the same way Floyd just unexplainably "disappeared" after Andy caught him in the back-room of the barber shop with Opie).

thanks, cliff. i am glad someone in-the-know finally cleared the air on that controversy.

just as a matter of record, floyd didn't actually "disappear". he hitch-hiked to california and caught a matson barge to hawaii. he eventually started up a tourist escort service in honolulu. changed his name to chapman and hired chad gates, aka elvis presley as a tour guide. he then traveled back and forth to mt. airy, nc rather incognito for the next six years.
