Seattle's about 6 inches less soggy annually than West Virginia.

Is this a definite?
Myself and my partner are seriously interested.
I have been to the US a couple of times she hasn't and we have been looking for an excuse to visit.
Sounds like a fun time

Me too, but I'm not talking about guitars.

The gathering should be a go. Miles seldom makes threats.....I mean promises.

Maybe my daughter will go with her Ovation or could take some of mine. She enjoyed the one in August of 06. Her boyfriend's from Port Orchard and I'll bet she spends the 4th there.

Yep, it's a go. I'll start another thread shortly, but this one will suffice for now to continue chatting.

I'll PM his name to you, Woody, as soon as I find out his last name. Maybe we can get Moody to do a little investigating. I was thinking my daughter could take up my OFC to play, but I just remembered that Miles has one. I am sure it will be in great demand, but maybe I'll send something else when we get an idea of what everyone else is bringing. Two OFCs in one place wouldn't be a bad idea. I could tell slight differences between mine and Tony's, but that might have been because I lowered the action.

I'm in. Don't know yet how large an invading force I will bring with....

How about the Alberta brigade? It's only about 12 - 14 hours for you guys. (though there are hILLs to contend with.)

If you have it on Saturday the 5th, I might be able to make it. I'd fly from Charlotte to Seattle on the 4th and then either ride back to Portland with my daughter on the 6th or fly from Seattle back to Boise on the 6th.
If the 5th works best for everyone else, I'll work on getting the flights. It's probably easier to fly to Seattle than it is to Boise anyway.

I like the idea of gathering on the 4th and 5th even if we just designate a park or such to congregate at. I want to do some site-seeing and kayaking in the area over the next few days so as far as myself I am planning about a week in the area.

Possible Itinerary:

Party/Trash Mile's house
Kayak the Orca's Islands (several tours available)
Wander the Farmer Markets in the Skagit Valley
Skagit Valley Wineries...
Skagit River Eagle watching...
Hurricane Ridge - drive up for an awesome view
Lounge at my house - BBQ, firepit, trees, etc.
Avoid Chuckey Cheese and I5 during commutes

Just as long as the Party/Trash Miles' house is on the 5th. I'll save the rest for some trip when I have more time available. I have friends who have two different boats moored up there that owe me at least a weekend if I ever have time.

Chateau Ste. Michelle.

Their reserve Merlot is one of my favorites. And BB is pretty ok too. That sounds like one hell of an afternoon to me.

Hmm... I may have to go see BB.

Weaser, try the Columbia Crest Grand Estates Merlot. Cheap and yummy.

Wine Spectator rated it a 92 a couple years back. $10 or less per bottle

Don't even get started. There are so many good wines up there that we usually bring back a trunkful every year. (The trunk is pretty small.) This year I hope to miss the annual Yakima Valley wine tour because I will be going to the OVATION FACTORY TOUR on the same weekend. I hope. I hope.

Common out cliff. I've seen some of your clips, I think we know some of the same tunes.

Not too far... what's a few thousand miles amongst friends?

Mark, that one I mention due to price. It's our house wine... and quite tasy too.

If we're just talking good and even great Washington wines, we'd be here for a bit.

Damon - I'm all about getting tips (on wines, on guitars - just not on wooden nickels, Waskel's given me all I need there). Upstate is big on Columbia Crest - you can get it pretty much anywhere here. Not bad at all for the under $10 category and, for that price (which is usually about $9 here in town), you really can't beat it. No question, Washington does very well in the wine dept. Upstate NY does pretty ok as well so it's nice to measure ours up against some others across the country.
