waskel said he would back me up on bass at o'kane's

so I foget the tunes we are playing but we are totally out of tune. I keep yelling the changes at him and he keeps looking at me like I am out of my mind.

well I was not out of my mind. Pam has a 5 string bass and waskel was playing the low B instead of the E.

I think that was the last time we played together...............

Oh, c'mon... it was O'Kanes... it's not like anybody could hear us...

As I said, a simple butt-whipping back then and everything would have been fine by now. But no....there's all this deep seated resentment still. Dang Waskel, can't you play a simple bass line?

Does no one appreciate how difficult it is to play the right bass line in the wrong key live?

I've retired from OFC type gathering performances.

I just prefer to be in control of what is happening on stage when I am on it.

Man... it really makes my day to see such a fine example of subtlety crafted, perfectly executed humor that makes it's point with a laser like precision.
Too bad Al.
I for one will miss hearing what you do.

So can I still keep "jamming with Cliff and Brad" on my bucket list? I'm working on it, guys. Today I'm one step further into semi-retirement.

Good for you Mark!
Seems like I've taken a couple step back the past few days.
So... when we finally share the same GPS coordinates, what would you like to play?

Seems like I take a couple steps back every day, especially when the weather turns nice. I spend as much time as I can outdoors and I don't practice. I'm currently working on the lead guitar for Peaceful Easy Feeling, which probably would take most decent guitar players a few minutes, but I've wasted hours looking for tabs, then more hours listening to it (only to find out that it wasn't recorded at concert pitch--433 instead of 440 in case anyone wants to know) and then a few minutes trying to practice. I'll get it down about 90% and then forget it, like I have most everything else. I've very slowly picking up some of the basics so that I can ad lib, but it's a very slow process.
I'm good for most anything from the late 60s and 70s, although there's not many I can do from memory.
BTW, you missed another great ski season and I only got out once.

MIB, don't feel alone. Nothing comes easy to me and new tunes can take anywhere from 5 minutes to 6 months
