Q. Which one of the following does not belong: Herpes, Measles, AIDS, Banjo Players?

A. Measles...You can get rid of the Measles.

Q: What is the difference between a banjo and a South American Macaw?
A: One is loud, obnoxious and noisy; the other is a bird.

Q: What do you say to the banjo player in the three piece suit?
A: Will the defendant please rise.

What's the difference between a banjo and an Onion: no one cries when you cut up a banjo.

Upon hearing from his doctor that he only had six months to live, a man exclaimed, "But doctor, is there anything I can do?"
"I'm afraid not." said the doctor. "But, there is one thing you could try..."
"What, what, I'll try anything..."
"Find yourself a homely girl that plays the banjo and move to Pittsburgh."
"Will that help me live longer?"
"No, but it will make time go by really slowly..."

;)

Man, this post turned bad in a hurry, although I'm kind of enjoying seeing someone else get picked on. (maybe I'd better just shut up, sit in the corner and play my drums...)

I much as I enjoy tha "pickin" on TRboy and his banjo, let me try to get back on topic for a moment.....

Seems that there are a lot of people here that live within a 2 to 3 hour drive from Simpsonville, SC. If you can't make it for tha whole weekend, maybe consider coming up on Saturday, June 21st, for tha day. Some of us will be tired and cranky, from stayin up half the night on Friday, but we would still love to have tha extry company.

If you take a look at the sig lines, of those that have said they are coming, you will see that there will be a huge variety of O's and A's here.

hmmm.....cranky people and reasons to start a new case of gas....if that don't make ya want to come visit...

Oh well, all are welcome!

I've got a suggestion: Why don't everyone who's planning to attend, bring at least one new song (words AND chords :o ) that they'd like to add to the ole standbye/standards!

Also everyone have a song that they'd like to "perform" either solo or acompanied....much like what we do at the tour jams. You don't have to perform if you don't want to but just maybe......

I'm not a singer by any stretch of the imagination but I've found it easier to slaughter a couple of songs (and have fun!) in front of a small group of people (friends) instead of a large crowd.(half the time they're not listening to me anyways....gives everyone a chance to take a piss break!)

In fact it's getting harder for everyone to get me to shut-up.... :D

TR, that sounds good, a Macaw AND a banjo together!

Jimbo, I'll only be able to bring one guitar to this one 'cause we'll be in the Hyundai (stinkin fuel prices, ya know) so I'm trying to decide which one. I'll probably just make it a surprise...(to you and myself)

Mike, the Martin is pluginable, but as to if you want to hear me play it at amplified levels is another animal all together.

Now that the Guitar 'd Gras is in the history books, it's time to start workin again on tha Southern Style Jam II.

I would like to thank Mrs. 'Zilla for her tireless recruiting effort in Amelia Isle this past weekend. I hope that some of our new friends from there will be able to attend.

After having some discussions with the 'Zillas and g8r's, I want to throw out a few suggestions for the weekend.

Friday night (morning and afternoon too, if you arrive early) and Saturday we could do the group jammin, song singin thing. This can include NEW songs that haven't been played at previous (SS Jam I, 'Zillafest, g8rbowl) gettagethers. We can also have the "song writers" event as previously mentioned, as well as a general backyard group Jam.

Since so many SWMBO's will be attending, I thought that Saturday night we could go to Downtown Greenville for dinner and take in a few live music venues. There are also a couple of acoustic bars that may be having open playing sessions, for those that aren't tired of playing and singing and wish to perform. Of course there will also be a late evening jam session back at my house.

There are many great parks and attractions for tha little ones as well as shopping galore.

All ideas and suggestions are welcome.

Currently, my 2 spare bedrooms have been reserved by OFC'ers and families (still some couchs available for you soloing guys), however, my son has offered a bedroom or two at his house (I will confirm that with his SWMBO). There are also many hotels within 3 miles from my house. PM me for housing info.

Come one, come all!! You might even be able to get me to make up a fine batch of grits fer ya. ;) :D

Man, that sounds fun, Jimbo. I wouldn't mind a sleeping spot somewhere. I may try to get Adam to come. If we're having a songwriting expo, what's the topic?

I haven't written a song in 10 years, so I wouldn't mind trying it again.

Trader, what's all this Martin talk? I guess it's too much to ask that we keep it free of such pollutants?
