The long solo from Al was inspired! "Tim and the kid" are gellin' already, and I gather from this thread that you guys have not played together a lot. All: thank you so much for your kind words regarding my kids. I was really glad that they had such a good time, and you all were a big part of it. The whole group was friendly and open, and my kids knew it. There was none of that awakwad feeling that sometimes happens when meeting new people. BOTH of them started pressuring me as soon as we started for home to teach them to play guitar. And THAT, in case you didn't know, was a hidden agenda of mine the whole time! You guys are all so talented, and it was just wonderful to meet you all. What fun it was watching CrimsonLake, Amy (his wife) and Nick interact! I SAW the competitiveness in Nick as Weaser and he played chess together. Then all the three kids (Nick, Diana and Alex) were playing cards, and Nick was being alternately gallant toward my daughter and competitive. I was briefly tempted to ask Mike (Crimson) what his son's intentions were as regards my daughter! Then, of course, I realized that I'd better check on Diana's intentions as regards Nick! And, of course ALEX's intentions were just to have fun, fun and more fun!!! THAT interplay was just hilarious! My kids echoed my own sentiments regarding everyone there. They were just tickled pink to be there and to listen meet everyone and watch and have fun. And, as I might have mentioned before, they BOTH want to take up the guitar in a serious way. I hope that will stick with Alex! I think Diana is hooked. Can't WAIT for the next one! More soon! Alan

From these pages, one would get the impression that you all are a bunch of rank amateurs who just picked up the guitar for the first time last week. NOT! Weaser, Jeff W., Al, Cliff...all of you at one time or another very much pooh-poohed your own abilities, then when I spied on you over at Al's house, trotted out some really nice chops when you seemed to think no one was watching or listening.
