A man with impeccable taste ;) ... Thats been my answer since I was 14, and my Dad played 2112 in the car :D
My story started about the same age, and the same album too, but instead of "dad" it was mind altering substances and headphones that influenced me I think.

Alex Lifeson has always been my #1 influence on the guitar though. I can pretty much say it was those dudes that got me excited about buying an electric guitar... and for me, that's kinda where it all started.
They are my favorite band also. In fact I saw them Saturday night. Another great show!

My goodness, where did ya dig that one up?

Curses, now I've got that "Up, up with people..." echoing in my mind. Hell, that's as bad as "It's a Small World After All".

Just for that, here...

Have you seen Polyphonic Spree? Kind of like UWP joins an acid cult.

If I had to pick one, it would probably be the Eagles. But it's not fair to ask me to pick just one...

Cindy's awesome. She's got some pipes on her and gives it her all when singing live.

I think her "look" did her career in.

As for Celine... As Al would say, "I just threw up a little bit... in my mouth"

I begging my mom for the $5 to see up with people, it was my first big concert, I was 11 and went with my friend Kent. By ourselves! That would never happen today, kids let lose at a concert. Imagine.

Borak on keyboards?!?1?

In spite of the vid I still love that song!

an4340, I watched "Up With Peaple" performing in an USAF hanger in '68. The show happened to coincide with the 250,000 hours of accident free flight hours celebration at the base. The next day a student pilot pancaked a F-102 upon 'landing'. So much for 'up with landing gear'... :D

Cyndi Lauper plays an Ovation. Like the rest of us, just doesn't get no respect.

I think G-inski was serious. We've got another slothead owner on this board who toured his slothead with Up With People for like 8 years. And he's more normal than most of us.

Susan Cowsill is still making records. The recent one is supposed to be quite good - at least that's what the Amazon review said when it gave me the "you might like" dance. She's pretty hot for an old chick. Still. ;)

Another vote here for Rush.

beatlejuice53 mentioned seeing Chicago warm up for Jimi Hendrix. In the liner notes for one of the Chicago album remasters, there is an anecdote about Hendrix saying to one of the Chicago members, "Your guitar player (Terry Kath) is better than me."
