Those keeping score can subtract this one from my count - that was never the goal.

I do suggest that Al re-start the post when a little more detail or committment comes in. It is an impossible task full of compromise and democratic indecisions.

Should be about 989 now!

Is the point here to get a low collectable number or a great guitar?

I think the numbers should go (at least roughly) in the order received by Al(maybe as received WITH money). But if Al wants to give lower numbers to the more active/better known/higher posting members, so be it, it is his choice and right for doing all the work.

I've stayed completely out of this to this point, but I am watching how it specs out with some interest. Al has had enough "help" with the specs, I am not offering ANYTHING, although Paul M. and I do seem to be thinking along the same lines.

The 30th CL Anniv was issued without specific numbering...so, for the CL, you have "1 of the 300."

Interesting....the flame Elite T WAS issued with specific numbering...."xxx/200" on the back of the headstock, above the serial number and "USA".

:) Count me in. I like the "Un-tapered' slothead too. I'm all for the reverse blueburst, but will go with the consensus...please not black tho. Neck width same as the Folklore would be nice.

Make it a color that's never been done before and will never be done again.

THAT'S a good idea!!!
(Other than having your name on it,) you can't "personalize" it more than THAT!

Hmmm, in my case, # 1654 of 20 would be interesting to explain...

I think we all have to look at the reality - at some point, some of these will be sold to another. Too much personalization may actually make it harder to sell.

Throwing a wet blanket...another track is to see what the factory is doing for the 30th Anniv of Adamas. I am sure that they will come out with a 6 and 12-string this coming January that I will HAVE TO BUY (need, not want.) Maybe it would be better to ask the factory for the first 20 or so of the production-line limited edition. We could put a deposit on the guitar(s) so they knew we were serious; and offer it only through Al?? - maybe Al could be persuaded to give us a bulk deal...would probably make him "Dealer of the Month."

I am seriously questioning whether I would go for the OFC guitar and the 30th Anniv models - after seeing what they did with the 30th Anniv CL, I have to believe the 30th Anniv Adamas will create serious GAS.

Also, I still believe in being inclusive...we have a majority of members that are proud of the OFC but won't be able to lay out $2,000-$3,500 for an OFC Adamas. Still believe that just an OFC trc is the way to go where someone could add it to a guitar they already own such as a Balladeer, LX, or one of the soon to arrive 30th Anniv Adamas. No trc on their guitar? No problem as some of the members have already done...double sided tape. Need to sell in future, could always replace the trc, if desired.

Miles, Can I put my Member number on ebay?

I think just being represented as a Member of the OFC is sufficient distinction. Anyone wanting more should contact Bill Nichols - my TRC is on it's way!

I'm sorry I brought up the number thing. Personally, I really don't give a rats ass about the number on the guitar. Just so's that the guitar is great and I've got one of the 20. When you've got an original slothead from 1975, do you really care what the number is?

Something to consider is how much compromise you are willing to make for the OFC guitar. I mean, there is NO way 15-20 guys are all going to agree on exactly the same "ideal" configuration. So in the end, each of us will be making some compromise vs. our "dream guitar". If this OFC guitar is going to price out at $3000. which is probably a good estimate, and for maybe $3500. you could get a custom, EXACTLY as you want it, well maybe that's the better route to go. I'm not trying to put a kibash on the OFC guitar, but I think about the pros and cons of this every day (as I add 75 cents more to the cookie jar marked "OFC GUITAR").

Personally (for what it's worth, heck everyone else is doing it), here's my wish list: deep bowl, non-cutaway, traditional epaulets, traditional reverse blue fade finish, no fret markers, no electronics.

Ooops, I didn't add my 75 cents to the jar yet today. Gotta go do that before I spend it on something else. Can you even GET a cup of coffee for under a buck anymore?

Just threw that idea out to see what people thought since the topic came up. personally...never cared about SNs just as long as guitar was quality and played well.
