As usual, the Navy will deliver the cake and the Army corp of Engineers will set up the candles. and thank you all. Note: This is not a Jingle; 1. O beautiful for spacious skies, For amber waves of grain, For purple mountain majesties Above the fruited plain! America! America! God shed his grace on thee And crown thy good With brotherhood From sea to shining sea! 2. O beautiful for pilgrim feet Whose stem impassioned - stress A thoroughfare for freedom beat Across the wilderness! America! America! God mend thine every flaw, Confirm thy soul In self-control, Thy liberty in law! 3. O beautiful for heroes proved In liberating strife. Who more than self the country loved And mercy more than life! America! America! May God thy gold refine Till all success Be nobleness And every gain divine! 4. O beautiful for patriot dream That sees beyond the years Thine alabaster cities gleam Undimmed by human tears! America! America! God shed his grace on thee And crown thy good With brotherhood From sea to shining sea!

Two all beef patties, special sauce lettuce cheese pickles onions on a sesame seed bun. Tastes great...Less filling. Head for the mountains. Was "where's the beef" listed? The doublemint twins. I know - not a jingle, but it's damn fine as a visual.

Hence all those visuals that were cooked up in our pre-pubescent years. "If you've got the time, we've got the beer ... beer after beer ... Miller tastes too good to hurry through." Kinda like the twins. or how about ... "From the land of sky blue wa-aters ... comes the water best for brewing". As a kid growing up in Southern California, the one that's stuck with me is the long defunct -- "Don't cook tonight, call Chicken Delight". And of course, as someone mentioned earlier, the Cal Worthington song. This car dealer (with his dog Spot) ran on late night TV (when there were only two channels broadcasting at night, remember?), and had this little theme song that had (I believe) one of the Chapman clan playing banjo and words like the following: If you need a car or truck, go see Cal If you wanna save a buck, go see Cal Save a nickel, save a dime Lower prices everytime Go see Cal, go see Cal, go see Cal. If you need a set of wheels, go see Cal I will stand upon my head to beat all deals I will stand upon my head till my ears are turning red, Go see Cal, go see Cal, go see Cal. If your axle is a draggin', go see Cal Maybe need a station wagon, go see Cal get a new car for your wife she will love you all your life Go see Cal, go see Cal, go see Cal. But the automotive jingle of all time ... Dinah Shore singing "See the USA, in your Chevrolet".

(I was 3 or 4) Sung to the tune of Clementine: Burgermeister, Burgermeister, Burgermeister is the beer. Burgermeister, Burgermeister, Burgermeister is the beer. Now you have me reminiscing, teach you young whippersnappers to start this. My uncle was a bartender in Oakland and he would bring me all the empty cig. pgks. so I could take the tin foil off the inside and put it on a big ball of foil I had at home. Anyone else remember when the packages had foil on them? Of course, I know Bailey does. noel

The rumor of course was that it was actually silver, but I think that was Mom's way of keeping us occupied through the summer months!
