A glass of Shiraz on a Friday evening

Looking out from the Observatory

The Sun now sets into a wine-stained Ocean

It brings out the Australian in me, oh yeah,

It brings out the Australian in me

Now I like that idea

Have been known to partake of several glasses of Shiraz on a Friday night

seesquare, sorry to see you won't be able to make it. Guess I'll leave the non-O resonator at home.

It's all Syrah really, just people down under call it Shiraz (down under being New Zealand, Australia, South Africa)

Canadians call it Shiraz too, but let's face it, they really don't know anything but beer up there.

Yeh, but it's the Sun, the Soil, and the Kangaroo Spoo that make it an "Australian Shiraz" . . .

I've HAD the Canadian variety.
Didn't like it.
Somehow, I don't think a fine wine should have a "head" . . .

I'm with ya, they're both yummy though. If you get a chance, try some South African Shiraz too.

They use different spoo though.

Have pint glasses.. can chill..

Personally I don't like really cold beer. I like cool Beer. They say Europe is "room temp" that's not really true... well sorta.. it's cool, not warm, not cold.

The rooms in Europe aren't as hot as they are here. Room temperature wine is probably 55 degrees (although I never could convert from Fahrenheit to Celsius). I don't remember the beer in Germany being as warm as the beer in England. When it comes to anything food, I would never do what they do in England.
So do you need ice and coolers?

Cliff, as Canada is really 3 - 5 countries in one there are many different Shirazs from each 'country.' It may be fun to drink your way across the country....without leaving home. (Please! ;) )

Like most Canadian girly things, Canadian wine doesn't so much have head as give it.

Al, an umbrella is ALLways a safe choice. Works for sun and rain.

Likely shorts, sandals, and a rainhat.

Practically speaking, the rainy season doesn't end until it ruins the fireworks show. Any forecast beyond about 3-days is pretty meaningless out here against the Pacific, so keep checking until you board your flight... weather underground

"Spring" was really crappy here. "Summer" appears to have begun. But you never know. Bring a nylon windbreaker that you can compress to fit in your bag.

If you had an Ovation bowl, you could attach a handle and make a nice umbrella. Maybe the handle could fold so that it would double as a kayak paddle.

If you had a lot of Ovation bowls, you could make a vehicle for the Kinetic Sculpture race in Port Townsend. Start now, you could be finished by October.

Cliff, how much would you pay for photos? What color and size will look best on Al? Would Polarfleece be more appropriate?

Hey, hey, hey, now.....

A light mist in the air adds a great deal of colour to a fireworks show. Ask any pyrotech....

And SO far, my grapes are loving this weather. Heaviest production ever. 'Course, the vineyardis just four years old.
(What? 6 plants is a vineyard! One is a vine...duh)

Al, when in Rome...

This is not the city you're going to, it's Mt. Vernon. You can't go wrong wearing anything that says STIHL on it.

Some ideas...
