Great! I should have been dropping off guitars for you to take up. Looking forward to seeing you again. My daughter decided she won't be going. She didn't tell me why, but I think she said something about drunk old guys to her mother. Now I won't have any reliable witnesses.

And anyone from New Jersey should know how to make sure they don't talk. I suspect we'll have our version of what happens at Miles' stays at Miles'. I hope I'll be glad I'm not driving.

It would be funny if I could say everyone else would be glad you're not driving, but unfortunately I've ridden with you and you're not bad.

Cool, this means we can stop by the local AMP on the way. They'll love us long time.

Thanks, but since you were about to hop on a bus and then a motorcycle, your frame of reference probably wasn't too good.
I was just thinking about a 10 hour drive back on Sunday after a late Saturday night/Sunday morning. I hope my flight beats the Prof back to Boise, so he can stop for a short rest and I can refresh his coffee. Maybe he'll show my wife pictures of his music room and convince her that I need some additions to mine.

You forgot to mention that I'd just spent 2 hours on a twin-engine turboprop.

Coulda been worse. You could have ridden over on a Harley. (Suppose that will stir anyone up?)

Why don't dvd and Wabbit get together so dvd could bring some of Wabbit's guitars up to Miles? I'm thinking of the Koa in particular. I promise I'll wipe the drool off.

Speaking of guitars. Is anyone bringing a steel string 1 3/4 nut Ovation?

I've just agreed to buy something special over there but unfortunately I don't think I will have completed the transaction in time to get it to the Jam.

So it's OPO's for me.

Unless I buy that other GP that's lurking on the bay.

**** Songwriting Contest/exercise!****
There will be a songwriting event.
I have volunteered to coach/referee.
A little early to say what shape it will take, I'm waiting for the Tequila to inspire....it's never let me down yet.
(warning; I consider songwriting a full contact sport. My longest lasting writing partner and I kicked the snot out of each other on the beach one night working out the fight scene in a piece we wrote in university....'course, I don't bounce like I used to.)

Here's a plan.
The theme is.......
Childhood Memories

Reminiscence, learning experience, fond memories, shadowy terrors.....whatever. Bring a finished or partial song. I'll go get back my copy of Sheila Davis' workbook and we can play and/or polish as the mood and interest allows.

....now, where is Robbie's number? Bugger's ahd the book for more than a year.....
(co-writes are encouraged. they're great for both bonding and getting things done. Did I read that AJ is 'beering' with someone before he comes over? Write a song dudes!)

The GP's out

$2400 with a week to go.

If it was black or red it might still have been a chance.

And with a messed up headstock too. I wonder if the price of these things will ever subside.

Y'Know What?
Sometimes I get all excited and blurt off the top of my head, and you can't go back and edit 10 minutes later on this site.

I should ask first, is there interest in writing songs before or at this event? If before, then we all have a couple of weeks to dash something off. If at, then we can write in groups, which is sometimes a little faster and more fun...we chat a little about songwriting and how it's built. I could share some brain storming ideas. (okay, maybe more of a drizzle.)

And, in case it sounded a little over-enthusiastic...the 'full contact sport/ comment', etc......rest assured. It will be a supportive and nurturing environment. None of the sort of digs we normally do around here.

Since I haven't written a song in 55 years (I had one in my head once, but I forgot it) I didn't figure I'd get one written in the week I have left before I start travelling.
I wouldn't mind some ideas, though. So far I'm fine with learning songs that other people have written.

I've like "group" writing efforts. They are usually lots of fun, cuase you never really know where it's going until it's done. Then sometimes it goes into the trash, but the journey is the fun part.

Just put me on a team with someone who writes words.... or else you'll be getting an instrumental.

Strangely enough, a song needs that part too!
