Seattle's Best is owned by Starbucks now. It used to be a nice little company from Vashon Island.

I prefer Tully's, however, if I'm out of town, and it's a choice between "Joe Blow's Java Hut" and a Starbucks, I'll pick the Starbucks. At leat I know what I'm going to get. Same concept that's kept McD's alive and well.

Starbucks around here is NOT the stereo-type that the rest of the country has to endure either, but as others have said... there is better coffee out there. I have a few favorite "huts" that I frequent when I can. Different ones known for different "specials" like muffin or other fresh baked goods.

I'll be carrying a mug with me on the bike. A refill at 7-11 is less than a buck and we're both happy. Leaves more in the wallet for gas and G.A.S.

too funny, but typically true.

If it wasn't for those water (and power) stealin bastages down in CA, we'd never have a "drought" situation up here.

In preparation for the gathering, I restrung the 12 string for the very first time since I got it.

Never again.

Ever. I'm oiling these strings so they'll NEVER corrode!

PRE-ORDER YOU EVENT T-SHIRT Here!!!

I'm also looking for a couple or three Volunteers.

1. Someone to take the lead on a Guitar Maintenance Workshop. We all have some tips and tricks for everything from changing strings to adjusting necks.

We just need a "ring leader" to lead the conversation. MWoody ? Damon ?? I can help too of course. I have strings, and tools and a neck support, tuners, etc.. Whomever steps up, make it as formal or informal as you like. You're volunteering, so it's your show, I'll try to get you whatever you need.

2. Anyone else who wants to make a presentation/do a workshop, let me know. We have plenty of time and space. Share your skills!!! Share your Talent. Don't be shy!!

3. Song writing contest. Need someone to take the lead on this (excuse the pun). I've never done one, but from what I have heard, they can be loads of fun.

Don't forget to PRE-ORDER YOU EVENT T-SHIRT Here!!!

Say, Miles, on the event post you indicated that you'd be posting your address closer to the event. For those who intend to ship a guitar out to your place, the shipping window is approaching. Shall we PM you direct?

Hmm, the links worked for me in Firefox and Safari. Didn't (and won't) try IE.

That reminded me to check back a couple pages. Damon, I'll get you my flight information and we can figure out when and where to meet offline.

Another thing I forgot. Although you are a wino, could you stop somewhere so I could get some decent beer? Maybe Miles knows of someplace close. I'm not fussy, but when I went to the Oregon gathering I had to buy something ordinary at the grocery store. I'd like to bring something a bit unusual this time.
I know. Bumming a ride and already starting on a list of other favors.

Gee Mark, in Portland you can buy Microbrews at 7-11...
And since I have stopped imbibing, I have seen local brew for six dollars a 12-pack at Grocery Outlet!

Of course, I only see crap like that now that I don't drink!

I was enroute and stopped at the only Albertson's I knew was on the way. Henry Weinhardt's isn't bad for a mass produced beer. I should have brought a microbrew from here, but forgot to stop before I left.

Only 2 weeks to learn Crazy On You. I don't think I'm going to make it, especially since I won't have a guitar for one of those weeks. Guess I'll just drink beer and listen to you guys.
