Didn't know Miles had the OFC. I did know about that Book though. I've been hoping he doesn't put that one up 'fore we all get a chance to play her.

He brought the Book to our Portland gathering and we played it and my 87C side by side. The only difference I could tell (besides his was in better condition) was the headstock. I liked the 87 headstock better. The preamp is upgraded in the Book as well, but we never plugged them both in together.
If Waskel would bring his 87C, all would be right with the world. Now that I think about it, I think tdeej has a Book as well. He bought a new old stock one off ebay and sent it in for a refurb a couple years ago. If he brings a vanload we'll be in great shape for acoustics.

:D Which reminds me AJ, we have to do some strategizing on your projects.

Just tell me what your budget is and I'll double it...

You could always ship the JR D ahead to my house!!

So, what guitars will Al be bringing? How about a couple OFC Koas? Then we can all decide whether we like the 12 or 14 fret better, and maybe he won't have to take them home.

Al would probably do better to ship them ahead of time, which we have plenty of time for. I seriously doubt they would have to make a return trip.

Phil, the one that leaves Sidney that day will take about two hours to Anacortes. If you haven't been on it before, get up front. When it makes the bend past Orcas, there's a great view of Baker like on a postcard. It also passes right through the path the two Killer Whale pods take going up and down the coast, they might come up to say hello too.

If I happened to bring one home, what could SWMBO say, right?
Taking a ride through the San Juans is great. One of our favorite second, third, etc. honeymoon trips.

AJ, need someone to feed your guitars while you're away? You know they don't like to be unplayed for long - they get cold and lonely. You know how cruel these harsh Brisbane Winters can be (sorta like a Seattle Summer).

My wife is interested in going to La Conner on the Saturday to see the quilting museum among other things. Any other SWMBO's so inclined?

Do we have a rough head-count yet? Just so I can be sure to bring enough beer for those who want to taste the 'real thing'. (Portland cognoscenti notwithstanding)

We tried to take roll a few weeks ago but it died somewhere back in the third row. My guess is somewhere around 15 to 20.

As you know, Phil, I'm not fussy when it comes to beer. If everyone else drinks the good stuff before I get there, that's fine with me. If I get there early, though, I'll drink all the good stuff before they get there. I wonder if the hotel shuttle will make a beer stop on the way from the airport.

I'll just tell him I need to stop for a 10 pack. Since we're so close to Canada, I'm sure he'll understand.

The count is between 20 and 30, although 15-20 is probably more realistic. There are several who are not on the OFC who are planning to attend.

It's not like it takes much to join. They'll be members once we start.

Mark, That's assuming they are "O" owners, or we've at least had the ability to convert them.

That's not a requirement. This is like a Yacht Club we used to belong to. The membership requirements were: "Own a boat. Know someone who owns a boat. Wish you owned a boat. Glad you don't own a boat." The group died when people lost interest in having an excuse to party.

I'll take another shot at seeing if I can catch a ride from SeaTac. I am supposed to arrive around 10am on the 4th and it will be a bit later for luggage. No guitars. I'll buy your gas.
The shuttle looks like it's $54 each way and takes 2 hours and I'll have to wait almost an hour for it to leave. I'll check rental cars if I don't get any takers.

There's enough people coming in on the 4th, in the morning, that getting a ride should not be an issue.

That shuttle is actually a cool way to go and can really be nicer than driving depending on the time of day. I've used it often. It's very roomy and comfy.

As the time gets closer, and more folks firm up the details, we'll work it out, no worries.

Since I started here, there have been too many "ultimate Os". I usually ending up buying one and it didn't turn out to be the ultimate for me--just another form of GAS attack. I'm sure that this get together will cause another attack. I will have had one year of keeping it under control.
