And Bobbo, in the real world that I think most of us live in, "Stuff happens!" is a perfectly legitimate reason for lots of things. ;) Glad to have our DJ back...

I'd been meaning to get it for a while, and I finally got off the pot and pulled the trigger. Glad I did. The CD is by the OFC's own Jonmark Stone. There are a bunch of good songs on "Etched in Stone". You ought to listen to them all. But the one I want to feature today has got that great Ovation guitar sound ... not to mention a banjo. But here's living proof that a banjo is not always bad: True To You - Jonmark Stone This link is gonna take you to Jonmark's MySpace page ... just press the big "play" "arrow" button next to the song and enjoy. Then you can listen to some other songs when this one's done. If you like it, the whole CD is worth buying. I got the CD direct from Nashville by ordering it from www.jonmarkstone.com. He's never plugged it here as far as I know ... but I think there's a bunch of you out there that would love this album. Give the tunes a spin, go to Jonmark's website, and check out his music. Until the next time, go find someone to be true to. The rewards are great.

I suppose I should have taken a couple minutes and played something, but going to get something to eat seemed more important at the time. Why do I have so much trouble finding the listings for all the videos on YouTube? Seems like there ought to be a link from the Ovation site.

There's a bunch of cool songs on the Ovation hometown hero channel on YouTube ... I'll see what I can cull from there and serve it up hot once in a while. But go check it out on your own ... I'm still waiting and hoping they post up the one I did but I haven't seen it yet and I'm starting to think someone there had the good sense to do us all a favor and let it fade into obscurity. This one for today just seemed so right. I don't know about anyone else, but this Black Friday stuff is just too much for me. I don't get the whole camp out overnight so you can get into store at 4am thing ... this isn't like the old days when we waited outside the Wherehouse overnight to buy tickets to the Stones show. Or whoever it was we wanted to see that week. Maybe it is the same thing, but it's doesn't feel like it to me. It feels like: Overkill - Cliff Doenges That's right. The ghost of Black Fridays past ... the now reclusive OFC denizen Cliff Doenges caught live playing a really cool OFC2 guitar at Cameron's Pub in Half Moon Bay, California. It's a great performance, and eerily reminiscent of a lobby jam or two from days gone past. I hope we see another one of those at the Homewood sometime again. But until then, there are still lots of songs to be sung, and Ovations to be played. It's in your hands. Stay on pins and needles because there's more good stuff on the way.
