Well let's see. Both are curvy, colorful, and attractive. Seems very similar to me, other than the fact that there is less plastic used to make the guitars look good.

I originally thought that it was a reproduction of an ad from an old music catalog. It's for the "J. Henry Music Co." and is adverising "Banjo Mutes". Here I'm thinking that it's a t-shaped bit of kit that you would put on a banjo to selectively mute the resonator. Made sense. It took three or four "slashes" of Tres Generacciones tequila (ThanksAgain, Kim!) before I realized that the ad depicted a f@ckin' SledgeHammer!!! Laughed my ASS off!!!! . . . .

I've got a BUNCH of photos t'post, but I don't have the time and/or patience right now to resize them to where this MickeyMouse server'll accept 'em . . .

And yes, . . Bill is VERY under-rated (especially to his-self), but I heard some VERY tasty leads coming outta' that '84 during "Melissa" . . .

Joined: February 2004 Posts: 2487 | Ohh my god that photo Jeanette took is so freaking funny!!!!!!!!! I was sitting here looking at the pile of O's in the earlier photo's looking at them individually and taking them in seperatly panning left across them and panning right. Christ it really is an illness from which there is no escape! I have to promise myself that I will not miss another. I am playing music and I am real busy but I still feel guilty for not making this one. I really was looking forward to jamming some stuff. And I just have to see one of these piles of Ovations for myself. By the way when I first looked at the postings submitted after the event was done.... I noticed the guitars hanging from the tree. At first I thought someone had found some old Guitars not of American pedigree and they were hanging from a tree like and old Honda at a Harley rally! Randy

I've played the guitar Bill is holding on several occasions, and I can assure you that it has a voice way better than anyone would expect. The one on Ebay seems to have a standard Ovation bridge and saddle (The one at NE-OFC has an Applause shape bridge and screw adjustable saddle) Plus it has a standard wide rosette. Someone should go for this at the BIN price, just to keep it in the family. Oh yeah, almost forgot... great party, glad we could make it to see the usual suspects and a bunch of new faces.
