73 men sailed up, from the San Francisco Bay.
Rolled off of their ship, and here's what they had to say.

OpEd: Blues Image did this one up...was about L. Ron. and the voyage of the Bolivar, you know. That cat was freaky. Anyway, continue with the ear worm...

Ride, Captain, ride, upon your mystery ship.
Be amazed at the friends, you have here on your trip.

In an attempt to end this earworm, I submit the following: As sung to the Ballad of Jed Clampitt

The Ballad of Al Pepiak

Come and listen to a story bout a man named Al
A poor guitar player, Bims and Drummers were his pals.
Teaching English to the children where they didn’t speak a word
On the East Coast in Joisey, it was totally absurd

Diction that is, the spoken word.

As time goes by Al is reaping in the dough
On an English Teachers salary, you say it isn’t so
But with the Rock and Roll equipment that keeps rolling on his floor
He’d buy it real high and sell it for much more

Amps that is, Old guitars, shiny dreams.

Well the next thing you know Al is making music pay
He can find those guitars that people love to play
Then one day you can’t imagine what he’d found
A different kind of axe where the back was round

Ovation that is, kind of odd!

These guitars that Al is selling they are different and unique
When he sells them overseas, the Samurai just Freak!
The solidbody parts in his basement that is deep
Go for what the whole darn thing cost when the Factory had a heap!

Unappreciated that is, Feeling no Love!

The next step Al takes is to sell them full time, Wow!
It isn’t always easy (like it seems to be now)
The bills still come in but Ol Al is without fear
You can hear Al say “I’m just an Idjut selling gear”

Amps and things, textured tops too!

Al and Miles, they meet up one day to shoot the $!@# with friends
They have to end their meetin’ wishing it would never end
When a bolt of 110 lighting hits old Miles through the eyes
“Al Gore’s internet” he clamors “We’ll meet there most every night”!

Bulletin Boards, Modem speed, HTML

Well the first meetings there draw a very different crowd
From the Left and the Right, from fields just freshly plowed
If you do a little search you can find them still
You’re dang sure to run into some retired guy named Bill

From a Gas station that is, (or is it GAS to you?)

Time goes by and the Meeting room gets big
Al’s like a god to the Ovation Factory
They’re selling them new aLeX thingies both near and very far
It don’t take long and there’s an “OFC” Guitar

Shrouded in Mystery, Soon to be told!

Well the story isn’t over there’s a lot more to tell
With the Brothers and the Sisters doing very, very well
You can get an education. You can pass the time of day
You can speak your @#$# mind! Just don’t be mean so they say!

Freedom that is, Democracy, even at work!

You can find something there that brings a smile to your face
If you use another name you'll be there without a trace
Al never had a clue what him and Miles were a start'in
and all Al can say is "My middle name is Martin!"

Y’all come back now! Ya Hear!

Yeah....The Carpenters did a cover. Let's....just...pretend it never happened.
I'll make you forget that cover. Did you ever hear Faith Hill cover J. Joplin's "Piece of My Heart"? Faith is hot but her version is gawd awful. She sings it like it's a skippy-peppy little pop song.
I hope everyone is enjoying the one-sheets.

good looks aside, where does Faith Hill get the stones to cover one of the arguably best vocal performances in Rock History.
Shame on her.

That's like Nsync remaking "Sympathy for the Devil"

I had heard that when John Denver died and went to heaven he was ushered into a room and was handed a white Yamaha guitar. He said cool and looked over and there was Jimi with a white strat and white Marshall stack. He said "Far out, I must be in Heaven" and Jimi said "not quite"
Then he sees Stevie with another white strat and stack and says "God this is great, I can play in a band with these two guys, I must be in heaven" and Stevie says "Not quite".
He looks over and there's Keith Moon with this huge double white drum kit and behind him is John Bonham with another double white set. He screams "This is so cool to be playing with these guys!!! I'm in heaven" They look at each other and then at him and say "not quite, mate"
Just then Karen Carpenter walks in and says "OK guys, "Close to you", take 935"

CWK2....That's a good joke. However...the Yamaha guitar should have been a dead giveaway that he was not in heaven!
And I'm not sure but that my be the longest post I have ever seen from you.

It's really sad but most afore mentioned tunes play daily here in our office on the oldies station. As a matter of fact, I'm currently being serenaded by The Monkeys singing "Then I Saw Her Face" which would make any veteran OFC jam attendee think of Llamas.

Okay here we go.
The river Mercy of the song runs thru Liverpuddle (caused by drinking too much) and was written by Terry of Terry and The Cakemakers fame. The Featles (featuring Lowell George Harrison) also came from there and were responsible for the only successful British Invasion of America. One of the Featles, the female lead singer Joan Lemon became very popular as a solo artist in the States especially after marrying the Japanese ugly bucket Freaking Homo. Together they made many fine records one of which featured no screaming. Progressing from shooting her to number one the yanks moved on to simply shooting her this finally defeating the British Invasion. The British fought back by launching Exocet John the well known misguided missile, friend of princesses and no mean queen himself. A final assault featuring the nerve gas that is Sharon Osborne brought a once great nation to its knees and left it in such a state that it now thinks that Tim McSticksinyourcraw is a country singer.
If you need further details, please don't hesitate to ask.
