Location: closely held secret | No, I'm using MainConcept mpeg encoder to rip the VOB's to 29.97 fps mpegs. Then I'll use DVD Architect to re-author it. There may still be a little jumpiness in it, I don't think I've ever been able to convert frame rates without a little.
Doing it on my laptop while at work, I should be able to test it tonight. Doesn't help that the original video is 352 x 576. Bumping that up to 720 x 480 while ripping. Got my finners crossed! |

I think you are taking it one step further than what I was trying to do by enlarging the pictures.

Location: Australia | Maybe I'm too late on this, but the DVD author has told me the problem is the PAL format.
Aparently he uses Nero to convert formats and it's easy.
....am I stating the bleeding obvious......... |

Still, it's basically the same process. Extract, convert, re-author. |

It wouldn't play at all but I used DVD Shrink to extract and re-burn and that copy works fine.

Location: closely held secret | Ok, got a decent working copy in NTSC format, no rolling, balanced out the audio a bit. Sorry, couldn't do much to improve the video quality - VHS is VHS. Still, very watchable. Too bad their tape ran out during the first part.
I'll get it sent off to Jeff for redistribution. |
