Maybe the marketing approach is to go with four letter names where the third letter is K. I don't have any desire to listen to Niki, but Kaki seems to have a ton of talent. I don't know that she made me want to buy another Ovation, but I sure was inspired to practice on the ones I have.

(And I recognized your sarcasm as well, MIB, and probably should have noted it as it is one of the things I enjoy about most of the posts here in OFC-land)

We here all know the truth about Ovation guitars and how good they are. Marketing does what they do, we may not agree, but that's OK.....those great guitars just keep on comin'..... Click. Roger

I know this is my first post but I have been a looong time lurker here and I really feel I needed to respond to the whole "artist endorsement" thing  . I can remember years ago picking a Hit Parader or Circus magazine and reading the polls about who is the "best" for guitar,vox,etc.. and always finding it ridiculous. HOWEVER,I would go down to the local mom and pop store and see all the guys picking up all these instruments just because the Hit Parader guys played them so they MUST be good! I cant tell you how many errr, debates, I had about Wasburn vs. an old Fender or Gibson :D . I guess my point is I'm glad Nikki is getting out the Ovation name and not someone else. There will always be some kid who pick one up because of that and thats like discovering plutonium by accident ;) ! Doesnt really matter who the player is as much as the sound and the quality of the instrument. :p . If your playing in front of hundreds of thousands of people {as he currently is},thats great exposure for a whole new generation of "O" players.

More than 1300 pages and 1.5kg!! I thought that I've made a good deal but I'm not sure today!! "Kamansuckass" is not inside... It's a steal!!! I've finally understood that it's surely a name composed with several words. So I've looked one more time in my big and heavy dictionary. - Kaman: Not inside but I can suppose that It's the genius who have reinvented the guitars during the 40 last years isn't it??? - Suck: It's written "sucer", "pomper", "aspirer" so I can also understand this word. - Ass: my dictionary says: "Idiot" ou "Ane". Too easy for me... But It still difficult for me to understand these 3 words together. I've told to me: "Jérôme, this guy is surely a poet and his name should be very fresh..." ;) I'm so happy to see that you have also some poets in USA!!! In France, we had a nice band doing "rap music" (the favorite music to my ears... )and who's called: "Nique ta mère"...(N.T.M). Something like:"F... your mother". Very poetic for a band name??? It seems to be the same poetry as our new member K.S.A!!! If you want to change your name in the next future, I've got some french proposition for you: "Têtedecon" ou "Crétindesalpes". Very poetic and fresh too...You can trust in me. :D Welcome aboard K.S.A!!!

Yes, the original post had all the smell of a drive-by.....I agree. Roger

I find more fun in watching all of us "drift" off- topic. I have no idea what this guy's point is. I don't think we would drift so far as to comment on Kaman's marketing strategies - unless, of course, we saw something we liked.

Err... that SHOULD have read "I'm glad Nikki is getting out the Ovation name and not someTHING else" :D That really puts things ito a better perspective. Thats what I get for posting way after my bedtime ;)
