If you lose, don't blame the last minute stranger, blame yourself for not bidding higher. Bidding is like gambling and you have to know when to walk away. You assume you would have won it if you just bid $10 more, but in truth the winning bidder may have put in some astronomical maximum, you'll just never know. The '87 is a really nice guitar and you should just bid what you think it's worth to you. Dave

I would love to see Nick grab this within his limit, but I believe this guitar is surely worth more than $500. The summer is a time for great finds on eBay because so many people have other things happening. I'm going to bid what I think it is worth if Nick gets outbid. An '87 is on many short-lists, but this is a tight time for everyone. Home improvements, school for the kids, saving for the #47 (or OFC'r), etc, etc, are higher up on the lists. I like the idea of keeping these treasures in the family where they can be passed on when the time is right.

Not to be in collusion, but if you see the bidding go past roughly $550, I'm out. Thanks for waiting though. nick1961 oops, did I just sign off with my ebay ID? Dammit.
