What a fun time! Makes me want to try even harder to make the tour (despite the uke seminar!)

Cliff sounded great and led the charge although I think he felt the effects of our very dry climate...(although some tequila helped immensely with that.....thanks Jeanette for being the instigator of that little side trip!)

Thanks to Mike, we showed that the Colorado museum of fine O's & A's is alive and kicking. He has some outstanding guitars (if only he would keep them close to tuned! )

The only non-O's were the Tak classical that Cliff brought and the Baxendale 12 fret 12 string cutaway.....which stayed in pretty good tune despite the changing weather until ProfessorBB started banging on it!

It was great to get everyone we could reach together all in one place....and at the end of the day we were treated to Mike's friend Mary who wowed us all with her playing and singing.

Her version of "Chain of Fools" by Aretha was just outstanding.

What's the car, a late 60's K-Ghia? With Flofit seats in it?

For a DailyDriver, this thing is in imPECcable condition!!! . . .

(btw, the pic makes it look Dark Blue, but it's really a Deep Purple . . .)

Guitars in the vintage Karman Ghia include (L-R) 47RI, Original Slothead No. 42, Original Slothead No. 43, and the Ute. While all these guitars were wonderful to hear and play, we were all really amazed when we went indoors and heard the booming sound of the 2080/12.

I concur with the Professor.
For a 12-string, THIS thing just STONKS!!

When you're just "strumming" it, it's not unpleasantly "boomy" . . .

. . . but when you get ON it, this thing just thunders!!!

No, but (according to fugot) it's the FIRST 2080-12 the Factory made . . .
(this DID btw, make everyone wonder what T's LongNeck 12's gonna sound like when it arrives . . .)

Also, when Jeanette took this shot, she purposely left the headstock out of it, as Mike still has the MinniePearl hangtags on it.

We didn't get around to trying this one out til almost the end of the day, till someone (YoursTruly) FINALLY muscled-up the gumption t'get this thing tuned-up . . .

The car is a '74 Karmann Ghia...not mint - but like Cliff said - for a daily driver - it's in great condition...Guitars and Ghias..hmmm might be a bluesy country song in there somewhere...Bill since this car came off the line in 74...were the Adamas's any sort of reality yet...? Just wondering when the idea started taking a reality turn.

Karmann Ghia's were great little cars. Our family had a '64 that stayed in the family from '66 to about 1980....

Hey all,

First , many thanks for a great time. I had such a great weekend i went to the mountains on sunday. And then jumped right in to watching two godsons while their parents are off in costa rica..

I think the rumour is next spring we are having a rocky mountain OFC gathering, and having it at the hotel where cliff stayed. A stage. a pool, and lots of time to plan.

thanks again for making a good memory-have a great day everyone, peace mike
