At first I thought, "Wingdings. Bush league."

Then I said, "Hrmm, but Wingdings mightn't show up in every browser. ALT keys!"

Then I said, "No, not ALT keys, none of those are extended ASCII (well, OK, maybe the equals sign and bitwise shifts...but I don't recall offhand)."

Then I said, "Hrmm. Ampersands."

Well played, friend. Well played.

Definitely cleaner - nice work. Now if you insert scrolling background shots from the OFC calendar behind the text, of course in low res so the site still loads quickly, and obviously it has to look clean...

Never mind, it looks great. ;)

I truly appreciate all of this effort that I didn't even pay for, so somewhat ashamedly let me ask for:

200kb pics

Update links - add www.ovationuk.co.uk - drop the non working ones.

Ability to edit a Gallery or Album using multiple text entries and delete check boxes instead of the one item functions.

FAQs as discussed.

Do you need more funds to do this or just more time?

"Do you need more funds to do this or just more time?"

Is there a difference? time = funds, funds = time :)

Seriously thanks for the input. Although it may not seem that way, I not only listen to all of the input I research it and weigh it against many factors. The most important factor being the statistic of the nearly 100 people who join every month and the large number of them that are not in this part of the world. Cool graphics and fancy backgrounds are all great... the first time you see them. Maybe the 2nd... by the third time most people don't even notice them anymore.

I have found on the OvationFanClub, people spend a LOT of time on the site. Most other sites an individual averages 2, 3 4 minutes on the site, Here, the nearly 35,000 visites each month last around 10 minutes each. With over 1.1 and 1.5 million hits each month, I think any changes very carefully. Consider a 1Kb greamlin downloaded 1 million times, is 1 GB of data transfer all for a smiley face.

Anyway, keep the cards and letters coming. I like hearing the idea's and frankly I hate working in a vacuume. If anyone is interested in MotorCycles, I launched another site call http://www.Vision-Riders.com . The target demographic is much different than here, hence the site is much different.

mr ovation:
i was thinking about something quite light and quick loading, with control panel which allows administrators to change nearly everything without knowing html etc.

i didn't think about changing anything in forum, and forum by itself is very costly in terms of transfer.

there are some examples of my work:
portal ekologia
my homepage - under construction (this one i started to create 50 minutes ago)
and others, not based on joomla/mambo like:
pgwir
i usually don't prepare graphics, because i'm not very talented person, and if i have to, effects are like on wodapowietrze.pl or on my website.
on pgwir graphics were prepared by my friend and it looks quite good.

Only an average of 10 minutes each? It's good to know I'm way above average on something, but bad to know it's on the "needs to get a life" index.

Can I throw something out that has bothered me for a long time ... Discussion about prices (other than ebay auctions, which everyone can see what you bought or sold a guitar for). I always feel awkward when this topic comes up. How much did you pay? I saw an XYZ for $?$? at guitar center, etc. I am NOT saying that I would like this board to be like one of the other ones I participate in, but I DO think that AGF has a good policy on the subject of posting price information. I throw this out just for discussion and consideration by the admins. The following is copied from AFG terms and rules:

"NO GUITAR PRICING DISCUSSIONS: We respectfully ask that you keep guitar pricing discussions offline. We think pricing discussions in this forum can hurt dealers and ultimately hurt customers. When someone posts that they bought a guitar for from dealer XXXXX XXXXX, that suddenly sets the price for a lot of other dealers to have to match to stay competitive. It doesn't matter if the more expensive dealer offers better service or value-adds, has a nicer display room where the instruments are better cared for, etc. If "Cow Warehouse Guitars" is selling the same guitar for less money, many people are going to buy it. Now if you were the guy that just got great service buying your first xxxxx guitar from your local dealer, you're so excited, you come online to see what other people are saying about this guitar and you find out that someone else just paid a few hundred less for the same model, how are you gonna feel?

We don't ask much from the members here, but we will probably always ask you to use email if you want to discuss prices. We think that dealers should be free to have a relationship with their customers without feeling like they are held hostage by a post on an Internet forum. We simply don't want our forum to be used for that. Besides... How hard is it to post "Need pricing advice on a xxxx. Email me at blah@blahblah.com"?

Dave,
Alex and I try to defuse the "ebay police" and I think for the most part it's in check. I don't want to have to make a rule about it. It may come to that someday, but I don't think we're there yet.

Little Boy Jefferson,
On the interface, thanks, but it already exists for the most part, but frankly I've been programming for so long that it's easier to open notepad when I want to change something. But thanks for the offer. Also no offense, but I live in a PHP resistant zone. :)
