So sorry to hear this. Met him in New Hartford and spent hours with him at Amelia. His head on the table photo remains one the classics on this board. RIP my friend.

Brad was a really good guy. It makes me very sad to hear of his passing. I was lucky to work with him on the early OFC calendars. We had many conversations. It was really great to actually meet him in person at Amelia Island. He was a big-hearted, one of a kind guy. Reading the Slipkid manifesto and watching the various videos of him playing gives you a pretty good indication of who he was as a person. My sincere condolences and prayers go out to his family. RIP Brad, you will be missed.

BTW, Al, nice tribute to Brad on the Ovation page. I was perusing the Manifesto for the first time in years and was struck by Brad's comment, "Most of you know me only as some flickering letters in a TV screen". Although true, he really did such a great job of conveying his kindness and caring through those letters. We never met, but I feel like we did, and I am glad I had the opportunity to meet him, if only through those letters in a TV screen.

Another sad occasion for the OFC. I will miss his posts and his Detroit jacket photo. As a junior member here, I send my condolences to all who knew and enjoyed him.

Brad was really a special type of guy. Years ago he copied old OFC threads from the distant past and sent them to me by snail mail, just 'cos he thought I would enjoy them. He always made the point to email me to say nice things about any recordings i might post. I think, unless you were a complete a**hole, he would always try to help you any way he could. That said, he did discover a few complete a**holes among the thousands of forum members (surprisingly, I don't think he considered me one of them??) But his manifesto shows how much he cared about civility, understanding, rules, and manners. Really....what a guy. And MAN....could he fill out a couple of coconuts!!!

Yep. He was one of a few who openly in the forum told me I wasn't liked (see my previous comment in this thread for clarification). While I thought it to be a violation of the "above all, be nice" provision, I didn't blame them. I wouldn't have liked me either back then with my narcotic addled brain (all prescribed by doctors I'd like to add). Everything I've learned about him points to a really cool dude.

Don't blame him. All 4,379 of us drew straws and he got the short one

And don't even THINK about judging him by his ear-numbing scream "I WON! I WON!! I HIT THE FREAKIN' LOTTO!!! I GET TO TELL HIM!!!" when he drew the short straw either. That was just a nervous impulse. I'm SURE he would have immediately apologized for that had he been able to control the laughter and tears.

Everything aside, Slip, we already miss you...some of us may not get the votes to get in but save us a seat by you just in case.
