It was in the mail when we got back from a visit to Palm Springs. SWMBO told me not to even look at it because nothing was in the retirement budget for any of them. I tried to think of what I could sell, but couldn't come up with enough.

That's a tough spot to be in.... 'specially when I can see I'm heading for the same thing.

I could sell her car. Think that will help? Used furniture and a 1980 catamaran won't bring much. All my guitars are either not worth enough or too valuable to me.

Back in December my wife noticed "Lost Art Vintage" on the credit card statement. What's this? Oh, I'm just buying something from Al (cough, cough).

Little does she know that was just the down payment. Al, do you take PAYPAL for the balance?

A cashiers check from the corner drug store might work for you Dave.

The credit card statement to the corner drug store might be even more suspicious.

One of the primary reasons SWMBO and I have separate credit cards and bank accounts. Not coincidentally, she feels the same way.

Having a rough family situation (imminent death of one of the young ones, untreatable), and it was nice to come home from an extended trip to help and to find the catalog in the mailbox last night.

I'm waiting until this evening to open it, but it's nice to have something pleasant to look forward to, Standing O. It is very much appreciated.

I've often wished we had done that, but then I remember that almost 40 years ago when we got married, I was in school, had no money and she had the job and was supporting me. We couldn't get credit cards except for Sears and gas stations. "My" account wouldn't have had anything in it. After things changed we never changed the system, although she set up a separate account mostly for travel, but closed it after I complained for a few years.

Caution... Don't give up to many secrets.... the walls have ears.
.
The NAMM catalog has plenty of eye candy... The high end stuff looks awesome. Yet if find myself eyeballing that orange model. I've seen other pictures that shows the binding to be a cream color with a slight tinge of orange. I'd like to play one.
.
I've owned both a Gremlin and one of the first mini-vans so I'm not put off by something different.

Different is good.
SWMBO doesn't read this site. When I introduced her to Karl over in Germany he called her "SWMBO". She asked what it meant and agreed.

I got mine. Thanx for the guitar porn.
Even some of the new Celebrity models look good.
