Exactly what have I solicited Al? All I recall is trying to get opinions on what the GCS771lx-C might be worth. Nothing more. As I said, I am making some hard decisions these days. Some things have to go in my life out of necessity. If that gives people fodder to ridicule me I feel sorry for them. I won't explain my situation further as it's personal and painful.

I might take the liberty to point out that Dave Kell does have some serious medical problems (I feel blessed in comparison)(my only problem being mental inadequacy). And it is always a possibility that these problems play a part in his decision to forego future Ovation pleasures. Who would make that decision unless forced to by circumstance? Having said this I for one will miss the differing point of views and controversies which were always sparked by his always interesting contributions. Even Bob G. will miss this colorful soul!

It's always fun trying to figure out if one of us posted something when he was off his meds...or what meds he was on for that matter. I've seen one of my old posts occasionally and wondered what I was on when I posted that. Dave didn't reach Glenn's level, but he was headed toward the same ballpark.

Mark in Boise -  Dave didn't reach Glenn's level, but he was headed toward the same ballpark.

Not sure I agree with that.  Dave's issues always involved Dave while Glen's issues always revolved around Char.  Whenever a guitar needs to be sold, incredible sickness and/or near death/death is brought into the picture to somehow raise the level of sympathy and I assume the price of the object being peddled.  Probably works on newbies who haven't seen the same old song and dance multiple times but for anyone who has been around a while, I hope they have some intellegence and know better.  Just my opinion with no factual basis unless one wants to puruse the hundreds of archived pages that might just prove a point.

People with frocked up life stories and a willingness to share it for all the world to see keeps others entertained. I'm sure each and every one of us has our own "story" but we all choose to divulge it differently, if at all.

Exactly. I don't understand this need to share personal issues with strangers on an internet forum.

It's also a little like that great golf axiom...."never whine to others about how you played. 50% of people don't care, 50% wish you had played worse, and 20% didn't even know you were playing.

Except in this case it's more like, "never whine to others about how you were played."

And yet some say all here aren't strangers and some even speak of it as family. Go figure.

yeah nerdydave, but even the best of families have their black sheep or those that try to take advantage.
Some see our togetherness as a sign of weakness or stupidity..... and many of us have been duped (including myself) because of our so-called "family".

This entire thread just made me question humanity and joining this forum. Thought this was a place to be and share all things O and A.

If guy wants to sell the guitar, shouldn't we tell him to just list it and not attack whether or not he is sick or whatever? I'm so confused.

Just list it. No narrative. Guess he either lied or shared too much personal story to be a valued contributor. Man. That's tough. Glad I didn't share when my dad died unexpectedly and at a young age. Just sad if we can't be human and empathize. I feel like I missed a lot of this story and it's buried somehow in the history of this forum.

To me, sometimes, it's easier just to sell my Os and As locally rather than even post them here. Sad. If he's so bad, can't we forgive him or ban him or something?

Just don't get it.

Thank You, Bobbo...

I was just gonna suggest that TNG do a search with DaveKell's name, to track the story.
SEARCH

Also TNG... nowadays this is the Kinder-Gentler OFC.
Some of these old guys are just mean Darkbar has even re-appeared.
