I tried many different Elites at the GC but found this particular one sounds the best IMHP. I would like to know what specs that GC ordered this from the factory, or perhaps someone from the Ovation factory could enlighten us?!? Charles

I bought the same guitar from GC in November and spent about a month trying to find out what made this guitar different. Ovation couldn't tell me anything - told me to contact GC so I did. Colby Van Wagoner (from GC) spent A MONTH trading emails with me while trying to research the guitar and FINALLY succeeded in getting the info that I wanted. You can use this to compare to other models. BTW - before I plunked down my cash, I checked out a Chinese version (junk) and a Korean version (better but still no good)...picked up this US-made guitar and was sold. This model has some of the features of the more expensive LX versions at a lower cost. GC was running a 20% off sale the day after Thanksgiving so I got mine at a great price (I think, anyway)...$875 (new) including the hardshell Ovation case. Here's what is "in" this model: NAME: Ovation Elite T Series – Guitar Center Exclusive MODEL: GC178LX-5N FINISH: Black Gloss TOP: A Grade Solid Spruce BODY: Mid Depth Cutaway – lightweight GS SOUNDPORTS: Multi-Sound Hole – Bass Side Only EPAULET: Spalted Maple NECK: Maple NECK FINISH: Natural Satin NUT WIDTH: 1 11/16” FINGERBOARD: Deluxe Grade Ebony INLAYS: None BRIDGE: Ebony MACHINES: Black PICKUP: OCP-1K: Ovation High Output ELECTRONICS: OP Pro

Welcome to this goofy place. We hope you get to try out many more Ovations, old and new. And I suppose we should thank GC for bringing us 3 new members and Ovation players.

Joined: August 2007 Posts: 1008 Location: Tuscany, Italy | This is the most coolest week of mid summer and almost everybody are on holiday, including me. That said, i'm just back from a full day trip in the "Tuscany country side". In a couple of hour-drive from where i live i can get some very nice place and small medieval villages. We've had some fun, enjoying the unusual "perfect" weather (not hot and humid), got few nice ice cream....and some bottle of local wine as reminder... Herewith some pics... Unfortunately we cannot post more then 8 pics... so the first 5 are from San Gimignano. The last 3 are from the village of Vinci where Leonardo born; particularly the last one is the Leonardo house. All villages are located between Florence and Siena. Hope you enjoy them. Riccardo

The good thing about places like that is you don't need to spend a lot of money once you get there as just wandering around is great entertainment,
