FWIW, I got along fine with Jim. He even bought an instrument or two from me. I hear from him on the AGF now and then, and I don't mind a bit. As far as his trading goes, I might be worse than he is, so who am I to judge?

I have little to say about the turmoil a few years back other than that it was a few years back.....time to move on.

I don't really care WHO'S here, still here, or gone. I'm gonna help 'em, poke 'em or try to have fun with them. (except Al, of course. There is a line even I won't cross...)

So who is to say Jim is not reading these posts now? or even posted it himself?
I found him on various id's and I would not be surprised if he is using one of a pal now to log on.

Funny how so many want to be a member of a group they hated so much LOL

I don't even remember the exact circumstances but as usual words were exchanged I was called out on something and I had little patience or tolerance for it at that time.

no regrets just facts.

I love Jim. Of course, we went to all the Southern Style jams together. I had still not found my perfect guitar and was considering a Viper EA68. Jim told me to get an Elite instead. Best advice ever.

Stonebobbo I liked your poetry. Does AGF stand for Acoustic Guitar Forum?? Actually I liked this whole thread since it deals with a part of the club's history that I was not privileged to enjoy being a relative newbie compared to you guys. I don't know why I always head here right after the news (or sometimes before it). Must be those amazing Ovation guitars!!

Thanks.  Wish I could claim it, but it is Tom Petty.  ;-)

Was it TJ that came to one of the Raccoon jams up at Alison's shop in Hot Springs SD? I recall meeting somebody and his wife from Florida. I'm so bad with names.

I don't feel I should speak for trader jim or anyone only to say he had a lot of friends here and really missed the OFC badly because of the relationships he had built. He has moved on and is mostly a Martin guy these days, I traded one with him a couple of weeks ago. I don't often post here but I ck out the forum very often, I've just not been active. I logged in a few days ago to sell some air locks that I have no need for and ran across this thread about him. What i do not understand is why someone like steptend28 is allowed to make some of the statements he has about trader jim or anyone with out someone stepping in. His statements seem to go against the rules of the forum, at the very least are poor etiquette. He at the least needs to bring some proof. This is not new for steptend28 because he did the same thing to me for no apparent reason during those troubled times back in the day. The difference and I suppose the reason I was not banned is I called Al and was able to work things out with AL, Miles and myself. The substance of that call is nobody's concern but ours. Steptend28 is acting now as he did then, like someone who is petty and jealous. If for any reason anyone thinks this is trader jim I can tell you first no one uses my id, you can feel free to send me a pm and I'll send you all the contact info you need to find me or will gladly send you my phone number.

Many of us must have different on-line personalities than "in-person" personalities. People who have an immediate dislike of me on line, actually find me somewhat pleasant in person. Just ask Weaser. Well, maybe not....
There are people on THIS forum who (based on their forum personalities) I have NO interest in ever meeting. They are probably pretty nice folks in reality, but I doubt I would want to take the gamble.
I've met TJ at a couple of different gatherings. Nice enough guy. Very low key. Likes to buy and sell guitars. ?

Gulfcoast,
You obviously have a bone to pick.
Good thing I don't care.

Stephent28, no bone to pic here, I just call it like I see it. If you are going to make these kinds of accusations you should have proof. Show me some or let it go!

I have to go along with gulfcoast on this . TJ never tried to push a guitar on anyone. Don't think he broke any rules either.

That was a great get-together.
Strange to say Brad but one of the things that sticks with me from that trip is when your ordered a pizza, went over it at least twice with the waiter, made him repeat the order, and even warned him of how your pizza orders tend to come back wrong. And what happened? Of course... it was wrong. I still remember that look of resigned defeat you had.

(forum for two ... pardon us)

.

But season 4 is coming for the whole world. If you don't get why I said that, in relation to this thread, it would take too long to explain.

You'd need to watch the first 3 seasons...
