al,

Just say the 'word' and I'll stop the 'festivities'. Then you can delete the thread. No hard feelings or any skin off my nose! I was asked 'how' and posted for the 'OFC hive mind'.

I just considered this post as an educational and fun exercise in graphical expression. I didn't intend to steps on too many toes! ;-)

Hey iffy - if we don't like it "screw us".
Start apologising round here and you'll be doing it forever. Cliff wears a fluffy pink bathrobe and al is really the alice from "alice's restaurant". Stick it to 'em.

schro,

I didn't apologize. I just tried to man up for any written or unwritten rule that I may have violated. I could give a if a few don't like emoticons. By the colorful upgrades around here lately, it's apparent that quite a few are having fun. (Credit to Patch for the rat emo!)

If you re-read my above post real carefully you might perceive an edge of my personality. My more obvious traits I express via the emoticons. They are a part of the missing face-to-face interactions and expressions. It's all to easy to mis-interpret written words as evidenced within this forum in the past.

(stepping off soapbox)

I think they're fine. In moderation.
The written word, especially the written word by some internet forum hacks who struggled through high school English, can be mis-inturputed very easily. The fine art of irony and sarcasim is tough to use here.
I find that just a little wink or smile now & then helps convey the message I'm trying to send.

This was a good post! Who would have though two adults could disagree on the internet and actually not get carried away with it.

Kudos AL and "iffy" (I love that! :D )
