re: "I did not want to cause mass panic"

Not something to rejoice or despair but not unexpected. My concern had been focused on the employees v. the guitars as I have more to to play than I have time (at least for now).

Doubt if there will be more than a handful of "custom" orders due to the cost.

So, now we are going to have a diminishing supply (some damage, some will not be resold for a decade or more). I can't see a diminishing demand.

The OFC get-togethers, etc., drive some of the demand as someone can actually get a chance to play a textured top.

There's things you can control in the world and things you can't. The good news is that there will always be a ton a great guitars available from many, many manufacturers including Ovation.

Al, nice pictures...

However, the -2 reissue looks even better than the pictures!!

Workmanship was perfect. True reissue of the early ones in the late 70's.

Even if you aren't buying, check out Al's website...doesn't hurt to window shop.

Perhaps the credit card needs a workout. One of them 2080's has been calling me for a long time now. How can I slip this past the wife?

Heck, my wife just said it "is beautiful"; then thinks I should get the rest of the -2's for "inventory".

The timing on this all happening is killing me. Just a few days before Al told us about this killer opportunity I dropped a wad on my other passion, high end audio.

PS Audio PWT Perfect Wave Transport

Amazing concept and based on some other PS Audio products I own it should live up to the hype it has received (I have 30 days to decide if I am keeping it or not).

Anyway, I am busting my brain trying to figure out how to score one of these from Al before they all disappear. What a deal!

Quit rubbing it in, Tony. I couldn't even get my wife to come over to your house to see how a real guitar addict lives.
Paul, I am a lot more generous than you. I'd be willing to turn over my full $20 monthly allowance, but I already offered it to someone else.

If you don't mind, Stephen, I'll just send it in the mail. I don't want to catch the swine flu at the Lido Hotel.
