If ya only could keep ONE of your OVATIONS or ADAMAS which one would it be?

Then it would have to be the beautiful Adamas that Beal sent me. (Or maybe the LX I got from Bob, or the old faithful 1617 that I've had forever, or that sweet little Parlor that I'm fostering for Iffy...)

Most Unique? The instinctive answer would be the Adamas. But I play the Elite T's more often than the others... And I do like the 07 Collectors'... I'll get back to you after I clean this mess.

If I could only have just one, it would have to be a deep bowl cutaway, kinda like the Black one Fred checked out for me a while back at the pawn shop, but any Made in USA deep bowl would make me happy. I'll have one to call my own again hopefully sometime soon. meanwhile the loaners are very nice and extremely appreciated. Thank You Johnny and Al! Best Regards to all! Glenn

The first guitar that came to mind was my trusty '75 Ovation Medallion. Funny thing... when I started to analyze it.. came up with the same answer. If I could only have one guitar, it would be the guitar that was only worth something to me as obviously I would have sold all the others... While I doubt I could get a wooden nickel for my Medallion, it still plays and sounds great, and barring getting run over by a really big truck (remember it's aluminum neck on a deep bowl)... it will likely outlast me.

But...I got to thinking about why, because the others are in better shape, prettier, sometimes more versatile...so why her? Because...in most of the years when I was called upon to lead worship, I played her. Because...when I learned to play bluegrass to make my husband happy, I played her. Because...when he died, and I'd play for hours on end to work through the grief and purge out the pain, I played her. Because...when I take her out of the case and cradle her, I can still hear him singing, "I love you just the way you are, I wouldn't change you if I could"--the last song he worked on before the cancer got him. She's been a part of my life for over 30 years now, in sickness and in health, in life and death, for richer or poorer. I guess that's reason enough... --Karen
