I see it as a similar situation to me going to Chihuhua and celebrating VE day or "Remember the Alamo day" or the defeat of Santa Ana. It would be in poor taste and insulting my hosts by celebrating a national holiday. Originally posted by TommyK: Good 'ol american hospitality. It's a Mexican National Holiday and I applaud them for celebrating. However, I wish those that would celebrate it would take their orange and white and green flags and go to Mexico to celebrate it. I see it as similar to having guests over and one of them lighting up. It's one thing if he does it at home. But do it in my house I will ask you to leave.

Cinco de Mayo, is a Californian holiday that has spread to encourage beer sales. So I guess if we are not to discuss politics, then these types of thread shouldn't be started to begin with.....of course I will start a thread on October 23 to celebrate the Hungarian revolution, when Hungary stood up to the Russians in the 1950's So instead of the Phony "Cinco de Mayo" how about just saying "Happy Beer Day" or "Happy Get Drunk Day" Political correctness......what a joke! now, we see if this gets deleted or edited.

So what's the holiday to them? We ate at a good local place and in honor of the holiday tipped mighty handsomely (100%) even though the Mariachi Band was not playing any Ovations. Happy Holiday mi Amigos. Dave
