But it's like driving a 68 Chevy ll Nova SS or a mini van. They both get you where you are going, they both have their own pro's and con's but driving the SS is far too cool. Finger picking on a nice electric, on the neck pickup, flick and switch and the neighbors are calling the police. I love them both and layer guitars so I can use them both. But that's just me.

I used to have some sweet O electric's...will probably get some more down the road... Actually, to get back to the question posed at the beginning of the thread: I find all guitars to be a HOOT/GAS/BLAST to play...I love 'em all...

Leon Redbone tunes sound better played on the Reso' Neil Diamond seems right on the 12 string. chicken scratchin'Country works for me on the Tele' (never was much into Strats. I bought one and still can't remember why. anybody want a Mexi-strat?) Me just bein' me works best on a 6 string 'O'

Ahh yes, but I don't have a basement...lol And, like the Shelby's effect on Grandma, the Twin can leave ya trembling for quite a while as well...great for those neighbors to keep em guessing...I use the Marshall and the Deluxe 80% of the time... Brad, I do plan to get a Princeton Reverb as soon as I find a great deal... Electric? - Acoustic? Exactly!depends what I'm trying to say.

Both fun, well built vehicles to drive in their INTENDED environments but a Range Rover on the Freeway is just boring and a Lambo in traffic or g-d forbid offroad.... not gonna happen. The guitar analogies.. Europa looses a bit on an Acoustic while Malaguena on electric doesn't seem right either.

I've seen acoustic performances that are every bit as "electrifying" as any electric performance. Also, there are so many more tonalities that come out with an acoustic that's amplified, not to mention the folks that use the tops, sides, and backs in a percussive fashion. I'd have to say the topic is a false statement in my opinion.

In my case, when playing jazz with bass and drums, the joy of playing a powerful electric like a Strat or the L-5 is just more fun, but at home I just play acoustic and practice on my Custom Legend. I like Miles' description about the 2, the right vehicle for two different roads.

It's been years since I tried them on my Deacon and I can't remember the sound. The Preacher at least looks more like a jazz guitar. -Steve W.

I am learning some licks as I am writing some instrumental pieces for an upcoming show. It's fun because of the challenge and different but still for me an acoustic is where the heart is. Maybe I'll change my mind when (if) I become more proficient with playing the darn thing.
