Isn't it ironic that you have some paint that you wanted to stay on and it came off.

OMA has totally the opposite problem.

TAFFY, why don't you change the gold paint to red 'Testors Enamel' I know someone who's got nearly a whole gallon going cheap.

Doesn't the Mothership have a policy against this type of abuse?
Their black ops squad just might visit your apartment some dark night to reclaim the victim. And you won't hear them coming.... I read somewhere on the internet that they use black helicopters.

The coconut bra is the best protection overall. No one will touch you when you're wearing one of those.

Resurrection Thread Alert

The Red Paint was starting to flake-off and look uglier than it already was. So...

Scrub any loose paint off and knock-down the high spots...
Hit it with the Krylon! (actually Home&Garden indoor-outdoor spray stuff)

Some people never learn.
no, I didn't paint it in my bedroom

Now I gotta wait for it to dry to see how it will turn-out.

Okay... Black is Black, but these aren't the same Black.

I used many (5) really thin coats of paint. Hope it sounds the same (or better).

OMA you could have sold that for a fortune. It was the most famous guitar in the whole OFC.

my son got the bright idea to do a "hydro dipping" on an electric throw away guitar. We bought a big a** trash can - spent too much money on paint , and dipped away. It looked like crap...but he still has the darn thing.

I say..nothing ventured, nothing gained !!

Okay... Black is Black, but these aren't the same Black.

One of the first things I learned as an apprentice signpainter decades ago was the difference between light black and dark black.

Okay... I put it back together, mostly to check the neck set.
Luckily, because of the Intelligent Design, it went back together correctly.
So I put the old strings back on to check the action.
Once I had done that, I figured that I may as well put the preamp back in to use the tuna...
Then I decide to make a video.

So here is 8 minutes of me babbling and testing the guitar...

For those of you who are really bored.

Ballad of Big Red  (in the style of Big Bad John by Jimmy Dean)

Well it was in November of Twenty-ten,

a day the OFC will remember when

Old Man Arthur grabbed his Elite T

took some Testor's red, and made history.

Big red,   Big rehhh… ed

Big bad red

It was an Elite model Seventeen Seventy-eight

with a textured top they say sounded great

Coated with a finish, same as its back

a secret formula known as textured bowl black

Big red,     ummm hmmm

Now most Ts are black, tho there were a few

painted lusty red and some pewter too,

but Old Man Arthur thought his would look better

if it had a burst, that was a whole lot redder

Big red,   Big rehhh… ed

Big bad red

So he took the Testor's and began to brush,

but it dried too fast and he had to rush.

Though he tried his best, the burst went bust,

his finish dreams had turned to dust.

Big red,     ummm hmmm

Well he posted pics on the OFC

for all us guitar nuts to see.

Got lots of comments from the crew,

most exclaimed "What did you do?!"

Big red,   Big rehhh… ed

Big bad red

Since then it's gotten lots of jokes

and Arthur's taken lots of pokes,

but as time has passed, ol' Art's red T

became an icon on the OFC

Big red,     ummm hmmm

Then Arthur changed his mind one day

and painted all that red away.

Five coats of black just to be sure

and now that icon is... no more.

Big red.

Well that's all there is, it's all been said

so ends this ballad of  Big  red.

Big red,   Big rehhh… ed

Big bad red
